What a wonderful show that was....... I first watched the entire show shortly after becoming a member of this amazing community, and the segment involving Jerry just broke my heart, but I also know he surely lived the life many dogs could only dream of..... What a beautiful, forever legacy he left for all of us, and as always thanks to his selfless parents, Jim and Rene 🐾💜

Eternal gratitude and Love,

YES! I remember seeing this .... but it's worth looking at again! I loved this story and video! I love that this community came out of pain and the loss of a great hero .... Jerry's spirit lives on in all of us daily! Like Bonnie said - his life was the life most dogs can only dream of! What a lucky, lucky dog!!!

We are SO grateful - always - for this community.... much love always!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Yep,

Many times as I am a PBS junkie. Thought it was a wonderful story and then several years later I myself had a tripawd. Can never thank you two (and Jerry) enough for starting this site and helping so many animal lovers including myself. Keep up the great work.

And Rene said, "HOW FAR DO YOU GO FOR A DOG?" I remember thinking, "Jim and Rene get it! They would go to the ends of the earth for their dog, and make no apologies for it either!" Yeah, my kind of people!!

And years later, here we all are...together.

Little did I know that the feeling of connection I felt with them then, was just a preview of a life altering journey of enlightenment to be revealed years later. Jerry, all because of a dog named Jerry and his humans. And in my case, because of a dog named Happy Hannah who guided me to reconnecting with Jim, Rene and Jerry...and all the gifts they have to offer.

Script already written? Destiny? Happenstance? Doesn't matter. Lives were touched, and are still being touched, by all the life lessons of Jerry. And Jerry, Jim and Rene have created a "gathering place" for some of THE most loving and compassionate Souls in the entire Universe! Although the circumstances that brought us here are tragic, the friendships formed are an example of the best of humanity.

Thank you Jerry! Your light is still shining brightly through Jim and Rene!!!

With heartfelt gratitude,

Sally and My Chunky Spiritual Being Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

PS....I was in the same old home I'm in now, watching the same ole' fat big box TV I have now. Happy Hannah had four legs then...never did I dream in a million years that would ever change!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

There are happy tears in my eyes right now. Thank you so much for the kindness and love toward Jer' and the community he created. We had no idea when we brought that little puppy home from the humane society, that he would lead us to the best people and animals on the planet. Love you all so much!

Wow

I've been here for almost 3 years, but that's the 1st time I've seen that ...and just wow.  I'm sitting here crying ...you two put into words everything we feel.

We drove 2 1/2 hours to adopt Murphy for a playmate for Cassie, we were living in a mobile home.  A couple years later we got in trouble for having 2 dogs (oops!)  lol We were told to get rid of one of the dogs or move - well, obviously we weren't getting rid of one of the dogs!  So we bought a house 🙂  We found one with a pool and Cassie & Murphy wasted no time in making a mud path around it.  Murphy loves laying outside either on the deck or under the trees, just watching the neighborhood, no matter what the weather.

It's amazing the things we all will do for our goofy babies!

Donna

Donna, Glenn & Murphy

Murphy had his right front leg amputated due to histiocytic sarcoma at 7 years old. He survived 4 years, 2 months & 1 week, only to be taken by hemangiosarcoma at 11 1/2 years 6/12/17

An "ordinary" day, giving an ordinary bath to an "ordinary" puppy...not!! I would love to jave known Jerry's thought bubble. It had to be something along the lines of, "You have nooo idea who you're dealing with and what's in store for you!"

Awwww Donna what a great story! I know that Murphy and Cassie were thinking "SCORE!" You guys are amazing and really great pet parents. Thanks for watching the show.

Sally that's too funny! Yeah he wasn't real happy in that photo. He probably knew was going to get back at us for all those cold-water baths by turning our lives upside down, in a good way 🙂
