My dog Willow is 11 and has been recommended amputation for a spindle cell carcinoma. We met with VCA Emergency Vet and Referral Center, Dr. Sartor today. I have come to terms with the cost, just curious if there is anyone else in the area that has had a good or bad experience with amputation surgeons in the area. Thank you for all of your love and support. Sincerely, a scared and overwhelmed Dog Mom.

Can’t  give you any insight into  surgeons in your area.  It sounds like your Surgeon is a Board Certified  Orthopedic Surgeon, so that’s  good.

We all certainly understand your  fear and uncertainty.  We know it’s  stressful and exhausting  getting to this point.  We also know how happy you will be when you see Willow living life to the fullest and enjoying  being ,oved snd spoiled by you! Please know that we are all here with you every step of the way, okay?

Tell us more about your pup, size, personality, etc. When is surgery? We already know Willow is lucky  to have you as her hooman because  it’s clear you will do any possible  to give her a pain free quality  life ❤

Let us know any questions you may have about recovery, etc.  We have lots of tips and first hand experience,  that’s  for sure!

Hi Lex and Willow, welcome.

I looked up the clinic and they look spectacular. As an AAHA-accredited clinic, Willow will get the most up-to-date surgical and pain management protocols so you really have her in the best hands possible. Also, Dr. Sartor’s credentials are rock-star worthy, she looks fantastic!

Hope this helps you feel a bit better, I know you’re in a scary place. Hop on over to our other topics and let us know how things are going. We are here for you!

It's better to hop on three legs than to limp on four.™
