My dog Willow is 11 and has been recommended amputation for a spindle cell carcinoma. We met with VCA Emergency Vet and Referral Center, Dr. Sartor today. I have come to terms with the cost, just curious if there is anyone else in the area that has had a good or bad experience with amputation surgeons in the area. Thank you for all of your love and support. Sincerely, a scared and overwhelmed Dog Mom.

Can't give you any insight into surgeons in your area. It sounds like your Surgeon is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon, so that's good.

Hi Lex and Willow, welcome.
I looked up the clinic and they look spectacular. As an AAHA-accredited clinic, Willow will get the most up-to-date surgical and pain management protocols so you really have her in the best hands possible. Also, Dr. Sartor's credentials are rock-star worthy, she looks fantastic!
Hope this helps you feel a bit better, I know you're in a scary place. Hop on over to our other topics and let us know how things are going. We are here for you!
