I used Vet specialty center buffalo grove, they have amazing soft tissue and orthopedic surgeons. As well as other specialists, including oncology. My dog has had, vulvaplasty, TPLO(ACL), amputation, STS mass removed and all of her oncology appointments. Ive really been satisfied with all of them and the care they have taken of my girl. It is pricey because they are a specialty center, but compared to alot of other places Ive been to, the care and attention is far above the rest.

My other choice would be U of I urbana, Ive only used them for oncology second consult as well as a CT scan, because it was alot less expensive. I had a very good experience the 2x I went down to use them. Its well worth the drive to get a second opinion or bounce ideas off of.

Our Wrigley is in surgery as we speak at Vet Specialty Center in Buffalo Grove (IL). Yes, it is certainly more expensive than some other options but it is essentially a human grade hospital for companion animals. Everyone there is highly knowledgeable in their specialty and they are fantastic at collaborating as a team to ensure complete care. Can't speak highly enough about this place.

Oh awesome! We love feedback like this, thanks for taking time.

Yes, specialists are for sure more expensive and it's not fun to pay for. But my feeling is, I wouldn't ask my family physician to treat me if I had heart disease or cancer, it's the same for our pets.
