Dr. Kathy Mitchener, at the Angel Care Animal Clinic in Memphis, is a wonderful doctor.  She is caring, very knowledgeable not only in the area of traditional forms of cancer treatments, but holistic as well.  Unfortunately, we are seeing her for a second time as our dane, Sophie, was just diagnosed with osteosarcoma.  Our other dane, Daisy, developed lymphoma in 2008 and survived for 2 years.  The thing I most admire about Dr. Mitchener is her level of compassion and empathy, and her willingness to listen to your questions and concerns.

i'm pretty sure dr. mitchener was a consulting vet with our acupuncture vet when gayle was diagnosed with her second cancer (oral melanoma).  dr. mitchener was very helpful, suggesting suppliments and additional point for acupuncture and laser treatment.  glad you have her helping you and sophie!!

Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included).  She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.

As this post is a few years old, I wanted to share that Dr Mitchner now offers rehab therapy which includes the underwater treadmill (the only one around that I know of) as well as accupuncture. She actually has two offices. She practices her oncology treatment at once facility and the accupuncture and rehab at a different location. She is also very good to work with regarding nutrition, supplements and holistic therapies. We see her at least once a week as I have one that goes weakly for treadmill. My Tripawd also goes occassionally for accupuncture.

The dogs of Memphis are so fortunate to have a great vet like her in town. And I'm really glad to hear that life is good for Bella!
