Hey guys! I've recently agreed to take on a German shepherd cross from Turkey (he is flying over to me in the UK on October 29th). He is an ex dog fighting dog and has no ears (they cut them off) and is missing his front right leg after they threw him out and he was hit by a car.

As you know I have a little French bulldog missing the same leg but have no idea what a big dog would need to help him walk and benefit him as he's a bit doddery.
I'm thinking boots, harness, etc.

If you could donate anything you think may help him please let me know I would be so grateful,
I'm trying to get everything sorted for his arrival in a fortnight.

His girth is 80cm
His neck is 47cm

I am happy to pay postage

Thank you in advance, Caroline, Vader and TANGO! xxx

Caroline I still can't get over what a lucky guy he is to find you. Thanks for giving him such a great home!

Well, when it comes to bigger dogs, things that help include raised feeding stations for water & food, carpet runners and no-slip throw rugs where he will be spending time around the house, and yep, a harness is super handy if he will be doing a lot of traveling with you. Boots are helpful at times too. We don't use ours every day but oftentimes they'e come in quite handy. Let us know what his paw size is when you get him. You can measure his feet by following these instructions.

Check our Hopping Around forum for ideas on making your environment easier for him.

Does anyone know if Tango has the things he needs? If he still has needs, what are they?

Aww you're so sweet Shari. I know he has boots and a few sweaters, hopefully Caroline will chime in here. That's so nice of you to ask.
