I think it will all work out Sally. We already knew we'd have almost an hour drive to Rockwood. We didn't feel it would be a problem. If there are plans made to meet up earlier anywhere like at or near those hotels we can easily fall in with those too. We certainly don't want to put Cassie out trying to find a new hotel with 5 dogs so if there are other pet friendly hotels in the area post them for others to book by all means. Rockwood is fine for us we don't mind the drive at all. Tina and Clare won't have to worry they'll have Alison to get them around. Please don't rearrange everything around where we're staying we are all fine with the Rockwood location. 😀
OOOOOOKAAAAAY!!! OOOOOKAAAAAY!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
I JUST DIDN'T WANT ANYONE TO FEEL LEFT OUT!!!! I JUST WANTED (originally) EVERYONE TO BR AS CLOSE TOGETHER AS POSSIBLE!! That's all!!!!! 🙂
I didn't know arrangements were being made behind the scenes for Clare and anyone else. I was just going by Clare's post that she needed some info on hotels. I didn't know you all already had her set up...and Tina too! Think I thouvht Alison neede a spot too! My oops 🙂 🙂
Okay...everybody's good!!
I'm sure we'll have several who will need a hotel and roomate near Rockwood as we get closer! I'll be delighted to share a room with anyone who needs a roommate to help defray the cost!!
See everyone at ROCKWOOD!!!
PS...Sorry to you scare you Cassie...soooooo sorry! At the time of my writing I was just mostly focused on everyone staying close together. I KNOW the price at the Red Roof is truly a deal! And while Walmsley Blvd (IF that's where it is) is an area you DO want to be cautious, not only will you have a roommate, but no one will come near you with all those dogs!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 Of course, being cautious applies to everywhere these days!!!!

We know you are just trying to take care of everybody, Sally!
But face it - most of us will be HUNDREDS of miles closer to the park than we normally would be. Even THOUSANDS of miles closer. An ocean closer even!
We will all have a great deal of fun and the distance from any of the accommodations is not a big deal. We'll be gabbing all through the car rides!!

On October 27, 2016, nearly 6 months after amputation, and 18 months since his cancer likely started, we lost Pofi to a recurrence of Soft Tissue Sarcoma in his spine quite suddenly. His canine sister also succumbed to cancer on March 1, 2019 - we lavished her with our love in the interim, but life was never quite the same without her only real canine friend. Cliff kitty had to leave us, too, suddenly, in August 2019. Lucia kitty grieved all these losses, but helped us welcome two new Lurchers into our home and our lives, Shae and Barley.
Exactly... no FOMO going on here!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
FOMO???? What the bleep does FOMO mean? Guess it's either a Calofornia term or a facebooger term! 🙂 🙂 I final figured out what BTW means...what TMI means...and my facortie California term..WTf means.....but no clue FOMO!

See .. .now Sally.. I don't know if TFTTM is a slang that I don't know or a typo!
And you forgot to mention the west coast.... aka the "best coast" as we are known out this way.

Oh no! Sally, I am SO sorry. I just assumed everybody knew about the arrangements with the houses. I shouldn't have done. That was really thoughtless of me. I hope you, and others, haven't now wasted a load of time searching for hotels. I really do apologise. I should never have assumed.
Ruby, Staffy, born June 2022, became a Tripawd, November 2023, adopted January 2024.
Also Angel Tripawd Meg (aka The Megastar), who died in April 2023, aged 14, after seven glorious years on three, and Angel Staffies Elsie Pie and Bille. In the pawprints of giants...
Same here Sally!! Sorry!!! I'm just happy to be able to be there I didn't really think. I'm just kind of happy that everything has been arranged so well that I don't have to take care of that, too. So sorry to waste your time! And at no point did I assume that we would be going somewhere other than Rockwood Park after all the wonderful preparation that you took!! I'm just kind of along for the ride right now (thank you Alison 🙂 )
I do hope that we will all be able to get together in the evenings, too. be it at one of the houses or whereever. I am coming over to see all of you (well, and to keep close watch on the Brit 😉 ) and experience this kinship that we have here in person and live, so to say. and as always, Sally, that would not be possible without you.
If I can do anything to help with whatever, please let me know!!!!

It's all worked out 🙂 We have a surprise for you two no spilling the beans Sally 😉
The party is where is at the Park same days & times. Everyone coming from out of town has plans & hotels (Cassie don't look for anywhere else its fine). The park sounds great.
We knew when we got the houses it would be a little drive for us and we are fine with it. Doesn't mean we won't enjoy spending time at the park and having a blast with everyone because I know I will. Can't wait til May that is for sure. I need a break.

New Mexico contingent here!
Kayak says the price for flights will drop in the next couple of days so I'm holding out for that, but the flight I'm looking at arrives in Richmond the afternoon of the 26th. With the "yes-yes-no-no" of the lodging conversation I may opt for a park bench unless some other suggestion surfaces. Or I'll add to the Red Roof contingent.
So to go with the Wisconsin cheese: red, green or Christmas chili? Straight from the chili capitol of the U.S.
WWWWEEEEE!!! So excited!
