Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Is it supposed to rain?
At the moment the GFS and the
ec agree that the flow pattern will bring a series of storms to the
area Friday through next Wednesday. Before we all start building
arks have to realize that a slight movement of the flow to our north
of south will dramatically curtail the rainfall amounts. This was
the case last night when the GFS forecast a tenth of the amount of
rain as it is now with the current run. Still this could be a major
storm event and everyone in the Southland needs to pay attention as
the storm develops over the next few days.

The local weather report this morning for Sunday changed to "Clouds & Chance of Rain" ... bring an umbrella! We'll be moving on after Christmas so rescheduling isn't really an option.

Only the SoCal crowd would be fretting about a few clouds and a bit a rain. Mattie and any other northerners - let's brace ourselves for a lot of whimpering this week.
Any tripawds feel like coming to sunny Winnipeg?!? We have no clouds or rain - and it is supposed to get up to something like -32 this weekend!
It's the Las Vegas crowd that's wimps! We're driving to LA.

Yes Comet, I did notice that, but thought I'd lump everyone toghther who lives south of the 49th - or perhaps the Interstate 80. I recall all the talk about weather before the NorCal pawrty! My three field assistants who were in the area at the were saying how lovely the weather was.
Okay, I'm just jealous. Chalk it up to that and have a blast!!
I'm just wondering - is Wyatt going to try to eat Bernie or will Bernie try to eat Wyatt?
Hah! Now I know his strategy!
I'll bring my gas mask.

Oh, let's hope it doesn't turn into a farting contest, because I'm pretty sure Ranger could clear out the dog park! Sorry Comet, I guess I should have shared that with you BEFORE you agreed to give us a ride
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Hi Everybody,
I actually went to the dog park to check it out and took some pictures but I'm having a hard time posting them here. Too complicated for me at the moment. So just wanted to give you an area to meet - there's 3 fenced in areas - one for large breed, small breed and a 2nd small breed area. The large breed is next one of to the small breed on the right as you enter the parking lot. There's a picnic table towards the front of the entrance on the right hand side that I thought we could meet at. Inside the fence. So as soon as I figure out how to post these pictures I will.
Let's hope it's one of those weather forecasts in LA that's wrong. Looking forward to seeing everybody. Watch out for Kobe - he'll definitely give Wyatt Dog and Bernie Bin Laden a run for their money (even if he is a 70lb golden )
See you all on Sunday!
Kami, Mackenzie and Kobe
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Wooo hoo! Kami, you're too cool, thanks. Can't wait to be there, "rain" or not (hahaha! we all know what Southern Californian's consider to be "rain," so we're not too concerned! 😉
