Woof, Woof and Welcome! We live in Eureka on California's beautiful North Coast. Five weeks ago we adopted a sweet 6-yr.-old female 3-legged (missing her front right leg) pitbull named Phoenix. I'd like to give Phoenix a chance to meet (possibly at the beach, the large field near the Wharfinger Building, etc.) other tripawds in our area. I know two folks (Greg & Suzanne in Arcata) who adopted a 3-legged senior lab named Buddy last year. I also hear there's a 3-legged husky named Baloo near us in Eureka. So, if you're reading this and live with a tripawd on the North Coast (or are traveling through), drop me a comment or an email to: 51frontier@suddenlink.net
Wow what a great time that will be! Humboldt County is our old stomping ground, so many great places for doggies to meet up like on Samoa Beach where Jerry had the best times!

I really enjoyed the video of Jerry playing & running at Samoa Beach--the same place where I proposed to my wife!
Awww! Now talk about a magical spot!
Indeed folks, if you ever get the chance to visit California's North Coast, the beaches are the best places for dogs, EVER. So much room to run off-leash and so, so pretty.

I lived in Arcata (just north of Eureka for those not familiar) for six years in the early to mid 80s. I usually went to the beaches north of Arcata, I think Clam Beach when I had my newfie mix who loved water.
Not only beautiful, but much less crowded than the beaches in central or southern CA. I'm not sure what the rules and regs are now, but back then there were lots of beaches to take the pups to.

Today (Feb. 4th) I received an email (at my home: 51frontier@suddenlink.net) from Cindy V. about her sweet golden retriever Bailey, who is having leg amputation surgery tomorrow. If you're reading this, please send some positive thoughts, prayers or good vibes for Bailey and her family. Cindy & Bailey live in McKinleyville, about 15 miles north from Eureka, where we live. Hopefully, when Bailey is feeling better and up for it, we can get her to meet Phoenix, our tripawd pitbull. I'm sure that Phoenix will get to meet Buddy, a tripawd lab who lives in Arcata (the town between Eureka & McKinleyville).
Oh I'm so glad she contacted you! I can't believe we've had 3 members in Humboldt join us in the last month (this is a very small part of Northern California folks, what are the odds?).
Sending all our love to Bailey & Cindy!

Yesterday, Sunday, Feb. 15th, two adopted tripawds--Buddy and Phoenix--met for the first time. They were joined by Chloe (Phoenix's adopted beagle sister) and their three people at Samoa Beach on the peninsula near Eureka. Check out my blog (Phoenix12) elsewhere on this site for more details.
