Hi everyone! Our surgery is on this coming Tuesday. Gus was born with a birth defect, he's 5 months old, and will have his right hind leg amputated in order to improve his quality of life and prevent future issues. Just wondering if anyone else is in the area.

Thanks!

Hi Gus and furmily, welcome! What part of Colorado are you in? We spend much of the year in Fort Collins but won't be there again until spring (we fly south for winter). I know there are many members in the area. We once threw a party in town and about 40 people and Tripawds showed up, it was pawesome! We hope do to that again next year. Until then let us know what part of the state you're in and we'll try to arrange a get-together.

Hello!

I’m new to the group. My dog, Wesson, got diagnosed with cancer in his hock. He is getting his leg amputated Monday 1/2/23. I live in Littleton Co! I’m just trying to immerse myself in as much knowledge as possible, prior to surgery.

I think it would be AMAZING to do a meet up and hear all the other amazing tales of the other Tripawds. I know for me, this preparation for surgery has been very emotional and unexpected, Wesson has been healthy up until this point, he just turned 5 in October and we thought he had developed an abscess that exploded. It just never healed so we have been trying to heal this guy up since the end of October.

Hi Kirsten! We are so glad you decided to post and share Wesson's situation with us. We are sending tons of pawsitivity for a speedy recovery! Keep us posted in Treatment and Recovery!

Meanwhile, we are definitely up for a gathering in 2023. Our place is in Fort Collins. Last time we had a Tripawd gathering it was near Boulder and we had almost two dozen pups there! We plan on having a gathering sometime in the same general area in early summer and cannot wait to meet you two!

Until then, anyone else in Colorado feel free to chime in. If you gather before we can get our pawty together, set the date here and we'll help you promote it on social media and everywhere!
