OMD!!! We have so much to celebrate tomorrow ... Birthdays, ampuversaries, new additions to our families (that is you Sam), being Tripawds and most importantly that Monkeybutt-bunny was not invited and wont be there!!!
We can't wait to see everyone!!
I better go remind Mommy to charge the camera battery.
Yes, we certainly do have a lot to celebrate! Let's meet inside, straight in from the gate where we were last time, okay? Given the weather forecast I don't expect it will be too crowded. Look for my yellow windbreaker...or a big black three-legged dog.

I will check contamination levels as soon as they are up in the morning and post if there is a problem. It is not uncommon for the beaches to be closed to swimming the morning after a severe storm. It was pretty intense at the lakefront today. There are a few park options if the beach is closed.
You can monitor the status of the beaches on the Chicago park Distrcts's FB page http://www.face.....rkDistrict or swim ban webpage http://www.chic...../#swim_ban
The flags go up early and I will see them on my way home in the morning.
I would not count on it being too empty on any Sunday morning!
We had wind and we had waves and we had so much fun! Pictures forthcoming but it was so great to see everyone and get caught up AND Isabelle brought birthday presents and even gave one to Little Sister Sam (grrrr.) We missed Chili Dawg and hope his family emergency is all resolved. We hope to do it again in September!

She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.

Wish we could have been there Juliana is home now and doing well Looking forward to meeting up with everyone in September!
Diagnosed with OSA: 5/2/2011 Ampuversary: 5/11/2011 OSA returned in hip: 8/26/2011
Chili Dawg crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 8/30/2011 & is now pain free. He was my heart dog, and I miss him every day.
Some of the Chicagoland Tripawds met at Montrose Beach the other day and despite the typical Chicago weather, we all had a great time. True to form, it was just beautiful at my house and at Ginger's house...but Isabelle lives near the lake and knows all about "lake effect"! Which means it was cloudy and way windy at the beach and it also means WAVES!
All the humans were too busy chatting to take many pictures (what's up with that, anyway? Don't they know a good "Woof" speaks volumes?) So we have no pictures of Ginger rolling in the surf or Isabelle playing with the Great Danes or me playing in the lake. But here is a group shot:
We were all so glad to celebrate Ginger's 11th birthday! PLUS, Ginger has now exceeded 16 months as a Tripawd! Two fabulous reasons to celebrate sweet Ginger in all her Gingerness glory.
We were ALSO celebrating the very lovely Isabelle's (almost) ONE WHOLE YEAR Ampuversary, a very special milestone indeed. And we heard the story about how Isabelle was rescued from Hurricane Katrina and came to live with her mom Cynthia (and a bunch of monkeybutt cats, I might add.) Yaaaayyy Isabelle!
We also had one more thing to celebrate and that was my 5th birthday (well, in two more days).
So you can see we had lots of great reasons to celebrate and celebrate we did, in true Tripawds style. We like Tripawds peeps and dogs so well we're going to try to do it again in September. Hopefully next time Holly and our new friend Chili Dawg will be there, and maybe even Trouper, too! Plus anyone and everyone that wants to join us!

P.S. My mom said I have to post a picture of my monkeybutt little sister Sam so here it is.

Hi everyone. I am new to Tripawds. My mommy and daddy found a lump on my back leg on July 23rd and I went for an amputation on July 29th. I was already running and jumping up one step to get on the deck 3 days post-op which scared them, but I just wanted to show them how happy I was now that I am pain free. I never even used my ramp (don't tell mommy) I am 3 weeks post surgery now and doing everything…even chasing rabbits in the back yard and taking mom and dad on walks. I have a pair of boots coming too because mommy is afraid I will slip on the floors. She has blankets everywhere right now. Oh yeah, my name is Cadence but they call me "TriFOD" now because all you can see when I run is a flash of dog (F.O.D). Ok, i will let my mom talk now.
Hi guys, already made a post about a playtime in Chicago area. I would love to let my little girl socialize and meet with other tripawds moms and dads. If there are any events coming up, please let me know. I would like to find out a little more about you and your babies and also if any are on chemo, or any other western medicine. I am also interested in holistic healing too and hearing stories. I am just absorbing as much info as I can and trying to learn a lot. Her chemo starts next week. Trying to stay positive for Cadence too, although it is hard considering her diagnosis. She is a spayed female standard poodle that will be 7 in October. She has a brother (cat). I wish I could post some pictures but I don't know how to attach here. Looks like it is done all through URL. If someone could help me with that, that would be great. Hopefully you can see her picture in my profile. She is beautiful and has so much life and so much character. Hard to believe this is happening. Thanks all!
Cadence Faye: Born 10/30/04, stepped into our hearts 12/23/2004. Rear leg tumor found 7/24/11 by mom and dad, Xray on 7/25/11, Osteosarcoma suspected 7/26/11, amputation 7/29/11, Carboplatin started 8/23. Met free so far!
