Another fantastic week with my Tripawd Family in Virginia. 7 of us got together over Memorial Day week to visit Sally (Benny55) and what a great week it was! We traveled from Germany (!), New Mexico, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan and Georgia for this reunion. There were some glitches with airlines, both coming and going, but the end result was so worth it. It always blows me away how faceless individuals in an online chat could end up being close family members who truly love each other and spending time together.
We had a great visit with Sally, saw how extraordinarily well both Myrtle and Frankie are doing....they've come a long way since we saw them last year. Some of us went to Virginia Beach for the day, as well as other sight seeing and wine tasting. But the greatest part was just spending time with each other and catching up. Not a day went by that we weren't remembering and reminiscing about our Tripawd Angels that brought us together; memories of the whole tripawd journey from beginning to end. Laughing till we cried, crying until we smiled, remembering and making memories.....healing.
We enjoyed playing Cards Against Humanity some evenings.....Elizabeth's poor daughter will probably be scarred for life!
It was the best week ever, with the best "family" ever; it was hard saying good-bye, so we said "until we meet again". I leave you a small glimpse of our week:

Nitro 11 1/2 yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms. Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"

Paula says it so well. We had a great time. I wanted to add this all stemmed from a party 3 years ago. The Epic Virginia Tripawd party. From that we have started going on Vacation every year. That party was a two day event. We all clicked, we cemented those bonds and have made them even stronger.
You don't have to plan a week vacation even a one day get together in your area can lead to close friends. Please consider having a party. Just set up a date say hey we are getting together at such and such a place. Any Tripawds in the area want to meet up.

The friendship, the bond, the connection, the like values.....all there BEFORE we even meet. And all because our dogs and cats brought us all together here, here on this journey we all travel as one. And here is where life lessons abound and are shared, happiness, sadness, hope, despair, celebrations...all shared through cyberspace without ever "knowing" each other, yet "knowing " each other on a Soul level.
And THEN.....AND THEN.... when we meet in person OMD!!! It's like reuniting with an old friend with whom you've shared a lifetime of experiences that only you understand. The INSTANT COMFORT LEVEL is like nothing else you could ever experience! As Paula said, it blows our minds how faceless individuals TRULY love each other and actually ENJOY spending time together! Yes, we are family without the baggage of dysfunction!
No, this was NOT a tripawd pawty. It was, however the added bonus RESULTS one can have when participating in a REAL Tripwad sanctioned pawty! Those are the pawties where we bring our tripawds and fourpawds. This was a reunion, a continuation of love that we all on the site develop for each other that never stops, but merely grows.💖 As Paula said, remembering the old memories and making new memories😎
Frankie and Merry Myrtle did, however provide plenty of snuggles and slobber as dog fill ins until they got back home😎

Frankie making the rounds getting snuggles from Elizabeth , Teri and Kaylee and Myrtle getting butts rubs from Tina, and Murtle lostening yo Teri while waiting for the "cookie" word. Frankie literally went from one person then the other to get a anuggle.
Had to "archive a little from last year. Donna, and Paula too, are very adapted at getting picture taken.
