{{{{{hugs}}}}} You ARE doing a GREAT job, I promise! We all promise you are, please don't beat yourself up OK? You took action, you have a plan, you are both on your way to healing. The ABs will work and you may see a difference as soon as tomorrow. Don't let those online pics freak you out, every dog is different and Suki will overcome this without a problem. It's only temporary, don't forget that OK?

I'm so sorry this is happening, I wish no dog ever had side effects, it's so hard to go through this. Hang in there. And remember, you are a PAWESOME pawrent! Give Suki our love OK?

Oh no! This scares me! I found blood in Pollys Pee this morning and the Vet took us right off the Cyclophosphamide for fear of the same thing.... I will be watching this forum like a hawk to see how Suki is doing!

Big hugs to you!!!!

I don't even know how to begin with this update. What I thought was the most pressing issue with Suki (her cystitis) has been minor compared to what we found at the vet today.

I made a semi-emergency appt w/ my Onc because she hasn't been eating well, is restless and just seems to be in pain. Plus there was this cough.....

So, chest xrays and an abdominal ultrasound later:

The good news is that her bladder is actually ok. She has some mild cystitis, but the bladder wall is not even swollen and basically is in good shape. She just feels like she has a bad bladder infection (which DO suck) and has to pee all the time, but that wasn't the cause of the above.

The cause of the above is a huge lung tumor that is 12cm big and is pressing on her trachea. It has also spread to her lymph nodes. It's so big my Onc doesn't even think it's osteo related but some other type of cancer. Does cancer do that?? Mutate into something new?

It's moving incredibly fast (clear xrays as of three months ago) and there is nothing we can do to stop it's progression.

So, this is the end. I just have to watch, and wait, and listen until she tells me she is done.

I don't have to tell you that my heart is breaking. I thought we were doing so well and that this bladder issue was just a bump (a scary bump, but a bump nevertheless) in an otherwise solid road.  Now I would give anything if it were the problem.

oh :( I am so sorry to read this :(

I know it's not what you were expecting from the appointment and such hard news to swallow.  Please know that my thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

I'm so sorry to hear this news. I had hoped that the cystitis would Clear up and you all could continue along your journey and recovery. I know you must feel like you had the wind knocked out of you and been punched in the gut. It's horrible to hear a bleak prognosis I know, but hold onto hope and faith. Suki will tell you when it is time. In the meantime love her and enjoy every moment you have together. Make lasting memories. You are in my thoughts. Best wishes

I wish there was something positive I could say, but everything I can think of has already been said. I'm so sorry.

Did your vet say why there's nothing left to be done? Unfortunately it seems that various cancers can pop up simultaneously even when apparently unrelated. :(

I've been thinking about Suki all day and wondering. This is not what I thought I would read, I am so, so sorry. Unfortunately cancer does what it wants, it's so mean. Please know we are here for you no matter what, if you want to vent or yell or cry or whatever, you can do that here.

Love Suki and spoil her rotten every single minute. She is a strong girl who will show cancer that no matter what, it cannot take your bond away from each other. {{{{{hugs}}}}}

Don't even know what to say. I'm sure once you can catch your breath you, as well as everyone who reads your post will do whatever research possible to see what can be doe to shrink this tumor. I'm sure your oncfo will do the same. Piroxicam can help shrink tumors and maybe something as Simple as prednisone can help reduce some of the pressure on the trachea and bladder as inflammation is usually involved with tumors.....just throwing out somethings that may or may not have any validity.

You and Suki are strong and you are still on a journey that she has not decided toa end yet. We all wish we could take your fear away and wipe away your tears. She's here with you now and that must be what you focus on. We are here for you in any humanly way possible and that's not enough....we feel helpless too but we will be checking into any possible options

Please give Suki a hug for us and a special tummy rub and butt rug. We love you both dearly and are holding out close in our heart, Sally and Happy Hannah

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

My heart just breaks for you.

Its funny how something so minor feels like such a big thing until something bigger comes along and then you would do anything just to have that small problem again. I think thats how cancer is, no matter who what or where.

I dont have any advice for you, but I do hope your Vet can help in some way, if for nothing but to help her get through her days with you as painless as possible.

I feel like its so much harder to deal with the loss of a pet because they never go quickly. Its always left to you to make a decision you never want to and its so hard.

At least you know you have some time left to just spoil Suki as rotten as possible. Polly and I are sending our best and warmest wishes to you guys!!!
