Moby Dog has mostly been resting. She has the biggest dog bed....our double camping air-bed, covered with duvet and throws!

She does look kind of sorry for herself most of the time but has short periods of energy when she seems like her old self. She has been on short five minute walks several times a day, which she enjoys. She is eating (a bit smaller portions than normal) and drinking, weeing and pooing....again a bit less than normal.

I was worried she'd attempt to get up the stairs as she used to love sitting at the top or half way down.....we have an open staircase that comes into our kitchen, where she'd like to watch proceedings....but she's happy chilling on her massive air-bed!

We took Moby back to the vets on Monday evening as she had fluid building up around her underside. The vet wasn't worried about it, she didn't need to do a drain. She said we should massage it, which we have been doing and it has improved. Though she has had some leakage from the wound.

I can't wait till she has her stitches out next week, it still looks pretty gruesome.....roll on time....I want the fur to grow back and Moby to be better. I guess it's just a waiting game. Moby is no longer on Tramadol, she stopped that after day four, she has just finished her antibiotics (Synulox). She is still on Meloxidyl.

Feels like we're in limbo at the moment.

Curly.

Sounds to me like Moby is as happy as ever.  My dog had the same leakage from her wound.  I know it doesn't seem like the incision will ever heal when you look at it now but rest assured by next week it will be pretty well closed.  Glad to hear Moby is adjusting so well.

Limbo? Nope, sounds like you are making a lot of progress! I know it's hard to see, but if you look closely, each day things are getting better and back to normal. Moby hasn't had any real issues, it's a classic good recovery, so get out there and celebrate this terrific milestone, you all deserve a pawty!

Curly,

Sounds like Moby is doing outstanding!! I am so happy to hear this news. So many times we read when a dog comes home and does great and then there are bumps in the road and back in the hospital and so on before the healing is finally done. Moby is well on the way to being healed which is awesome. Must be the caregivers!! Here's to many more days of positive improvements.....even though they may seem small to you as long as they are improvements that great! Give him a snuggle for me!

Thank you for the reassurances....much needed! big-grin I have to think logically, she is recuperating from major surgery, and she did spend an awful lot of time kipping beforehand!

Arhhh, Moby! how snuggled are you!

Moby sounds like she is doing well and is sooooo obviously loved! I think in one more week she will be back to her normal (new normal!) self.

Give her a snugle from us!

It sounds like Moby is doing great. She certainly does look like a princess on her nice big bed.

What a wonderful dog bed clap! Here at home I've put half of a bed madrass and two (we call it "vet beds") like synthetic fur carpets for dogs, on the floor in the living room. They like it smiley. Moby looks so cute in that BIG bed!

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman.
