Fortis is doing much better! smiley1 I can't express how happy I am. Thanks for all of the kind thoughts and prayers. Yesterday a grape size ball squeezed through Fotis' sutures (very gross). This spot continued to drain and is still draining at this moment. From the moment this happened I noticed a big improvement in Fortis. I was able to get Fortis' vet appointment moved up to 8:00am today. The bad news is that today was the day that Fortis' stitches were to be removed. It looks like we have another week to wait for that.
It appears that the pain Fortis felt the other night was the tearing of internal stitches. This caused bleeding and thus pressure to form. The muscle spasms were causing more tearing and pain. Once the pressure was released Fortis was a different boy. What a difference a day makes. He seems so happy, but not near as happy as I am. Oh, he's down to 140lbs

Sorry for the false alarm. I never did like roller coasters much! smiley11

Thanks,

Fortis'Dad

I'll second that.  Rollar Coasters stink!  I'm glad trhat Fortis is feeling better.  Never apologige for a false alarm.  Rather see that then a problem, that's for sure.  You should go back and see some of the stuff I posted! LOL.  Hugs to Fortis.

Yeah!!!! That is awesome news! These rollercoasters tend to make the pawrents sick sometimes we have to learn to not ride them so much (and I am speaking from personal experience).

Great news!  Well, I'm sorry he had pain, but gee, I'm happy it was not cancer related.

Trouble lost 14lbs during her recovery from 69 to 55.  It was almost as if she knew she had to take off the extra baggage.  Give Fortis a big hug from me.

Poor Fortis (and his pawrents)...!  Roller coaster ride for sure!  Glad he seems to have slowed down that roller coaster! 😉

So glad Fortis (and dad) are feeling better! You are such a handsome guy Fortis! Hang in there, the first few weeks are really rough.

It gets a little better every day. You'll be up and running around in no time! Take care, Eve and Romeo

OH what a relief! Thanks so much for letting us know. This is a gross but potential post-surgery issue that people need to know about, so thank you for sharing it with us. Now, we'll all remember it if it similar symptoms ever happen to any other pup.

Give that big boy a huge three pawd hug from us!

Whewwwwwwww!  What wonderful news to hear that Fortis is feeling better.  Yes, there is a lot of grossness to contend with, but a small price to pay to have our pups feeling happy again.

Happy healing!
