Today is Brandy's 3 week ampuversary!  She is healing up and feeling great.  She got to swim yesturday for the first time since the surgery, and she had a blast.  She has the same hop when she swims, its so cute.  Honestly, I thought she would swim in circles LOL.  When she was done swimming she crashed hard and had the best sleep she has had in Months due to the pain she was in.  We are so happy!!

Today was also Brandy's first Chemo treatment.  We pick her up in an hour, and I hope she is okay.  Can anyone tell me how she may feel after the Chemo treatments?  Will she be sick?  Will she not want to eat?  If so, how long will she feel sick? Also, is there anything we can do to make her feel a little better when we get her home?  I really appreciate any feed-back in regards to her first Chemo treatment smile

Thanks for the great update! Glad to hear brandy is doing so well. If she is bobbing in the water, consider a Float Coat for safe swimming.

And don't miss the videos from our Veterinary Cancer Group tour, with lots of helpful chemotherapy treatment session information. Specificall, be sure to watch the Chemotherapy session for Daisee Dog and our Interview with Dr. Mona Rosenburg about Carboplatin and metronomics .

I remember well how scarey the first chemo treatment was. Trouble did better than I, she wasn't afraid.  Her chemo was early afternoon, she would come home with me early evening.  She would eat and do well for about 4 hours.  Then she would begin to get nauseous.  The nausea never lasted more than 12 - 24 hours (usually 12) and she was up and going again.  Did not really see much reduction in appetite.  She did have Cerenia for nausea if needed, and in addition, after the second treatment she was given an injection prior to the chemo to help keep the nausea at bay.

Best of luck on the new journey for Brandy.  We'll be sending you lots of good thoughts.
