Trouble is having surgery in the morning to remove a lymph node close to

her surgery site. It is pretty enlarged, but others do not seem to be

affected. The surgery is in lieu of needle aspiration that may or may

not give true results and biopsy that may come back malignant and then

still have to have the node removed. I think it is fair to say Dr F is

guarded, and a little concerned. He advised me not to wait.

I'm reserving any 'feelings' until we have results. For now, I shall not

panic until we know what we are dealing with.

For now, until we know what we are dealing with, the plan for pain management is to keep giving the Tramadol as she seems to need it.  Dr F is comfortable with that approach as long as we are only looking at 2-3 per week.

Once we are past this bump in the road, we also will get serious about reducing her weight.  She has gained way too much since she took the round of prednisone in March.

Oh Trouble, you're going to need some spoiling big-grin  Better think about what you'd like instead of treats.

Thinking and praying for good news for ya!

Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.

He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.

I cannot thank you guys enough for all the positive thougths and support.  I would be lying if I said I wasn't concerned.  There is a difference between 'I will not panic yet' and 'I'm not concerned'.  Today will be a long and trying day.  I'm not looking forward to it, but it must be done.

This morning brings the weepy tears - the kind that flow by themselves and just won't stop.  It will be a fun day at work!

Don't look for an update until mid afternoon or later.  Dr F has the late shift, so he doesn't get in until late morning and I don't expect to hear from him until he has her out of surgery and stable.

Lots of Doggie prayers today for my hero.

We're keeping Trouble in our hearts and prayers.  She's our hero, and all paws and fingers are crossed here for her today.  And for you, too, Shanna.  We all know about those flowing, weepy tears - sending you lots of hugs and pawsitive, healing thoughts.

Hugs,

Holly, Zuzu and Holly's mom

Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

Oh Shanna, we're so sorry that you're going through this together. That's gotta be scary. Could this be why she seemed to be slowing down and arthritic? Just wondering.

We are also concerned but we're not going to panic either. Trouble is a kick-butt kinda girl, whatever the situation is, she'll come through it fabulously, I know it.

Prayers coming your way, paws are crossed, you've got a ton of people sending lots of love your way. Keep us posted.
