We finally got our biopsy results from VSEC.

Unfortunately, we didn't get our Christmas wish. Tika has confirmed chondroblastic osteosarcoma.  She had her first chemotherapy treatment yesterday and that went very well.

So now we go one day at a time and relish the days we will have together. We've been told that when young dogs get bone cancer it's highly aggressive, we hope that Tika can beat the odds for a least a little while.

Other than that, she's handling the tripawd thing very well.  She likes to  problem solve, so it's cute to watch her stop, analyze the situation and go from there.  She's one of these goofy girl dogs who like to squat and raise there legs, dad and I about fell down laughing yesterday when she actually managed briefly to lift her remaining back leg to pee.  Big goofball.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas!

It's funny how they can make us laugh even when we're feeling sad inside eh? Yeah...they adapt pretty easily don't they?

I'm so sorry you didn't get your Christmas wish, but remember that she is here with you today...now and until it's time (which NONE of us can predict), enjoy each and every day together.

Wishing you lots of love this howliday season.

We're sorry to hear about the lab results, but are pleased to see you are in the right frame of mind. Keep those spirits up and live every day to the fullest!

There is no need to focus on the end so soon. We are certain you will have plenty of time to share with your goofy girl. Try to focus on quality of life instead of quantity, prepare for the worst, and hope for the best.

Tika is out of pain now, and sems to be handling her treatment well. That is all that matters. Thanks for the update, and Merry Christmas to you too!

Kim,

I'm so sorry to hear of the diagnosis but I know Tika is in really great hands at VSEC.

For now, she's out of pain and can have a good quality of life. That is what is important now.

Best of luck to you both and do cherish every day. Max is only 19 mo old and we are up against the same thing as far as young dogs and the agressive cancer. Ill keep you in our thoughts and prayers...and send lots of Labby hugs your way!

I'm sorry the biopsy results weren't what you were hoping for.  It sounds like Tika is adapting well and doing well with her chemo.  Stay positive and supportive and give her lots of love. None of us know how long we have, so it's so very important to make the most of each and every day.

Tika sounds awesome.  Many good thought to you as you make this journey.  We all need as much support as we can find.
