Just dropped my baby off to have her amputation done. I'm so nervous. I tried my best to be strong for her but I didn't do too well. Just waiting for the call now.... Going to be a long day.

I'm so glad you hopped on over here! Saw your blog post last night and want you to know that the entire community is here and ready to support you. Don't worry, all of us felt as scared and nervous as you are right now, but when you see her pretty happy face all those fears will disappear. Animals are so much stronger than humans give them credit for, until you go through something like this together. Your bond will be even stronger because of it, promise!

Small dogs do so well on three legs, she's going to make a fantastic Tripawd. Please keep us posted on how things go, we'll be waiting!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

She is going to do terrific! I was also very scared. Not only for my dog's health, but also....how would I react, would he look a lot different. Just lots of stuff running around in my head. When you see her, she will just be your same beautiful puppy. She is adorable, by the way! Keep us posted on how she is doing.

TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed  and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.

I know that scared feeling all to well! I was a nervous wreck all day! (Cody actually had to stay the night before too, cause we got his diagnosis the day before amp and they just kept him) Try to stay calm even though its hard! The first two weeks are the toughest. She is going to do fantastic and so are YOU!

Cody and family 🙂

Cody is our 7 year old Australian Heeler mix boy. Diagnosed on 2/20/14 and became a tripawd 2/21/14! We chose a homeopathic approach and he is being treated by Dr. Loops our of NC.
