Thank you all for taking the time to respond and reassure me that this was the right thing to do. As you all know, it is incredibly difficult to get to this point and having the support of people who have gone through this means so much. We had our final four-legged walk this morning. She got to bark at a few dogs and stalk a couple of squirrels. She was in such good spirits. Took her in at 7:30 and just got a few update photos from the team at CSU. They really are wonderful. We are hoping to get some rest today and prep for her pickup tomorrow. I will keep you all posted. Thank you again.
What a great tesm to send you pictures. Sky has already wrapped everyone around her pawsđ
Let is k ow when surfery is done. Yes, try and get some much deserved rest!!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Well Sky made it home safe and sound. It was quite wobbly, but we got her to her bed and she seems very content. She also managed to pee outside, drink some water, and ate a cheese snack. Now she is snoring in front of the TV. It's so hard right now to see how she will ever be comfortable/confident on three legs, but I know it is just going to be a process. We have exercises to do with her over the next two weeks and then we will schedule a PT session during her first chemo appointment. Will keep you all posted on her progress!
WELCOME HOME SKY!!! Aurfery is done and reco has startedđ
Peeing amd drinking....YAY!!
I have no doubt we'll soon be using videos of Sky living life to the fullest on three to show to newbies how well dogs adapt!
Stay connected and let us know as any questions arise. Sky is on some good hosp meds right now but maynhave a bit of a crash when they wear off. That's when tweaking the pain meds specifically for Sky's needs come into play,
Give Sky some extra cheese snacks for usđ

Woohoo! Sky is moving ahead and in recovery mode! All signs from the pottying to the snacking are really great indicators that her recovery is already going great.
I love that the vet team already gave you PT homework for her! What kind of things, like stretching?Â
Rest up and take things one step at a time. Even when you don't think she's progressing, she really is!Â
