scooter had a good night selpt till 4 than stood up and wanted on the mattress with me, i had layed it out in the living room . scooter is going on 27 hour s post op  and has been up for a pee ,he liked the pee box idea so thanks to where i saw that.he had his meds and ate a bit taking water. he gets up and down and round on his own . and no a whine or wimper at any point. he seems like the pain is under control he shows nothing to me that looks like he is uncomfortable .we have not even looked at the stairs but after seeing him today cant see a problem. first pic is his not a leg any more , and the second was the first time he stood up on his own

Aww look at that handsome pup of yours! I'm so impressed you have been navigating our Forums and posting images, you are more techie than you think. Great job 🙂

Scooter sounds like he is doing well. I am also happy to see that he is in great shape and looks so much younger than his age. What a pawesome dad you are!

I know we talk about pain medication here a lot, so even though he may not seem like he needs it now, he may need it in the coming days. Have a talk with your vet about additional medication just so you're prepared and you'll both sleep better at night if he starts showing signs of being painful.

Here's to a great recovery with your amazing boy!

9 days post op nothing to really say bout scooter to this point .he did not have any problems. he was up day one got the peeing and the other down. has no problems getting round , he even gets up into his chair yesterday .only thing he needs help with is getting up the stairs . going down not a problem ,he seems to have a hop in his step now,lol . so very happy we went with this option ,scooter seems to be more spirited . that leg must have bugged him more than i ever thought.

No news is great news. And as we say around here, it’s better to hop on three legs than to limp on four!

That's  truly wonderful to hear how well Scooter is doing.  Every now and then we get dogs who sail through  recovery, and your handsome boy is one of those!

Love the photo of him sitting  so proud in HIS chair!  He definitely  OWNS that chair!😎

And we can never have too many updates with nothing  really to report , other than EVERYTHING  IS GOING WELL,  especially  with pictures!!

What a great recovery!

We have seen here that sometimes the leg is sooooo painful that the surgery and recovery pain is easier for them to deal with.

Don't worry too much about the stairs yet- rear amps will have more challenges going up than down.  Once he is fully healed and a little stronger he will probably handle the stairs just fine.  My rear amp Elly is a little Pug mix and she files up the stairs!

This is such great news! So happy to see a handsome boy adapt so well!  ‘Scooter’ is an apt name for him as he scoots around so well!

stairs were/are the hardest for my guy.  They have to figure out how to change the pattern of their movement, and it takes awhile for some dogs.  My dog definitely overthinks it and psychs himself out.

scooter is a champion!

And we're  grinning ear to ear over here!!   Updates like this is why we all do what we do.  Seeing Scooter be Scooter is the best Christmas  gift ever!!!

I love the photos... but the one with the shadows and the way it shows the shadow of three legs.....quite artsy!  Love it!
