Wanted to write in to let you guys know that Roxy is doing SOOO much better! She's running so fast! and so happy and playful! She finally slept through the night (me too!) 5 days after the surgery. She had her first chemo last Friday and had NO side effects big-grin just her old happy self. I've been mixing low fat cottage cheese with her new food and it has worked like a charm to get her to eat the whole bowl. Although some of her stitches had gotten infected, the vet gave her antibiotics, and today the last one stopped draining, so hopefully the wound will heal well in the next couple of weeks. He said she may be able to go swimming in two weeks which I'm counting on cause she loves summers in Puerto Rico at the beach cool  I got her a life vest on your website of course!

Thanks you all so much for your words of support. It really helped me get through the hard times. Now I see it's completeley true that they are almost 100% in two to three weeks post surgery, after the meds are done with. Now I feel absolutely no regret and only look forward to the time we have with her, happy and that beautiful tail wagging winker

Plus she's been extra lovey dovey which we LOVE since she has always been a more independent girl! ha!

Wonderful news! Thanks for the update. Please consider starting a new topic or a Tripawds Blog to keep the community up to date on Roxy's three legged advetures. We'd really like to keep this topic as a specific resource for those with regrets about amputation.

Glad to hear that Roxy is healing and becoming her old self again. Wow, summer in Puerto Rico, you are one lucky dog.
