Well .Miss Izzy, it's mighty good to hear from you AND know you had a great Christmas!!
But NOT enjoying that your paw is all bummed up again!! I'm sure it's a real slim chance, but maybe it looks so extra awful because something she did aggravated it and made it look much worse than it is. Just saying it's possible, probably not likely, but possible she stepped on something a d maybe got it infected.
I tell ha' what though, that Izzy is one very, very tough cookie!! And YOU are an excellent caregiver for this sweet girl! Goodness k ows, she's jad her challenges!! You, and she, are real troopers though!! And clearly, you ALWAYS do whatever it takes to keep sweet Izzy happy!!
We'll look forward to your update...BUT WITH PICTURES...And not just the paw!!
Sending pawsitive energy and hugs!

Now these were worth staying up for!! 🙂 🙂 Made my night! 🙂
I love her pretty Christmas blankies and her little Snoopy "stickers"!
I don't think I've ever seen a dog look more comfy and more relaxed than when Izzy does when she's sleeping and snuggling with her blankies!
Sweetness, this dog is pure sweetness! 🙂 🙂
It really is wonderful to see her again! She looks as beautiful as evvvver!!!
Love!

That girl sure knows how to get the most out of a nap! I'm feeling sleepy just looking at her....
I'm sorry that tumor is causing problems again. One of the things about MCTs- the tumors can grow (and shrink) very quickly. Izzy has been such a warrior and through so much on those 3 legs! I hope the vet has some options for you.
I'll be looking for an update.

Wow! What a change from the earlier paw pictures, which were just amazing. Hopefully the onco can give you some magic bullet again.
Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016. Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016. Lung mets August 25, 2016. Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016. Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.
Wherever they are, they are together.
Hey everybody! We are anxiously awaiting snow here in NC ... it's a "big deal" here as the South really isn't equipped to handle it but I'm excited because I LOVE SNOW!
Izzy's oncologist says it's "not time to panic yet" although admits that the rapid regrowth of the tumor is not a good sign. My instinct to up her prednisone was spot on and we have gone back to 20 mg per day for 5 days to try to knock down inflammation. We're also putting her back on the every other day dosing schedule for Palladia, tho it may turn her into Miss Poopypants if we stay there. Another option discussed it so up the mg slightly but go back to every third day. The good news is that there is a significant reduction in the mass already and Izzy was extra happy and playful today, actually challenging her much younger, stronger, 4 legged sister to an epic battle this evening while I showered and her poppa supervised.
Here's the tumor just a moment ago. Oozey and gross but definitely improved.
Anyway, we are going to use the snow as an excuse to don the ugly Christmas sweaters and maybe even get Iz in her red jammies and Santa hat again. If so, I will be sure to post pics!

Cannot wait to see THESE pictures!!! Sorry Izzy, but we just love seeing you all dolled up!
Yeah, I'm in Virginia and we're supposed to get about 8 inches where I live, and North Carolina MORE!!! Yeah, to get a lot of snow in NC is quite a treat!
I think Izzy is going to have an absolute ball playing in the snow! Take lots of pics and video too!
You've always had good instincts when it comes to Izzy's care, and it appears that way now. And her paw does look better!
I'm sooooo glad she was so frisky tonight! I think she's anticipating an "epic battle" with her buddy in the snow!!
Ya' know Amy, with EVERYTHING Izzy has been through, and to still have so much gusto, especially for a senior, is absolutely amazing!!
Have a great time p@ayy in the snow! Make a great snowman!!!
love!

Chicago - no snow anywhere to be seen. Of course, the high yesterday was 8 degrees. . .

Not to worry, we are supposed to get Chicago-style lows here, too. Predicting that we will hit zero (or sub zero) temps the next couple of days.
Sally, you are so right ... Izzy is an amazing, death-defying (so far!), vibrant old lady! No one ever guesses her age and I am so thrilled that, especially at 13, she is not letting anything get her down. And while I am still that dog mom who won't let her on the sofa, I would do anything to keep my girl happy and healthy!
Here she is in the snow this morning. Her foot is hurting her so she's doing her best not to walk on it but went out on her own 🙂
