After Jewel pooped I noticed a small hole by her incision.  It is seeping should I be concerned?  The vet's office is not opened but someone will be there at 5:00.  If I should be concerned I'll take her in.

Thanks,

Patti

It is normal to have occasional seepage, but then, without actually seeing the hole, I wouldn't want to speculate. It wouldn't hurt calling up the vet office this p.m.

Is it a continuous seepage even though you attempted to pad dry it?  Or just intermittently? Perhaps do not let her having too much movement for now until you get some reassurance from the vet later on.  Make sure when you try to assist her with the towel, that it is not interfering too much on her incision, but I am sure you already been paying attention to that.  🙂

Please keep us posted!

She might have popped a stitch or staple. It is a good idea to hot-pack the area (use a warm washcloth) to encourage any drainage.  I would at least call the vet in case they think that antibiotics are warranted.
