Whew! That's awesome. And you're not paranoid, you're vigilant, and that is fantastic. 3-paws up to YOU!

Love that happy smile of his and that cute little sock on his paw.

Yeah, keeping the incision uncovered should definitely let it dry out and heal once and for all.

Ok. How long will this drainage last???? It is slowing down, but im going on day 4 of this. Also hes got a red bubbly spot on the lower part of the staples.. should I be worried about that? Just noticed it when I got home from class at 10.

Well daggone it Calvert! The drainage is starting to slow down and mow you've got another owwee!

Now, I'm no vet...it just sees this may be related to the staples (and they do look "uncomfortable"). He's already taking antibiotics so I wouldn't be too concerned about any infection. I would, however, take a picture and email it to your vet and see if you need to bring him in.

Just curious, how does the red bump feel temperature wise compared to the rest of the incision site? It "looks" like it would feel "hot". The rest of the incision area "looks" like it's healing nicely.

And, it could well be a just a residual fluid pocket from the seroma .

You poor thing! I know this part of the journey is enough to drive you whacko! I know it's hard to not worry, especially when you're exhausted and then you've had a few "extra challenges" on top of that!! But just look at this picture of Calvert grinning ear to ear! He's doing GREAT!! In his mind he's sailing through this recovery phase with a joyful attitude!

Let us know what the vet says tomorrow.........for now, go enjoy Calvert, get that t-shirt photo for us and give him some extra treats tonight!

Noww.....where's that chocolate for you? Did you eat it all in one sitting the other night?

Sending hugs!

Hmm. I wish I could offer some kind of insight beyond what Sally has said, but I really think it's a good idea to let your vet know. Don't be shy, that's why you are paying them. To me, it looks like a seroma pocket but it's smart to keep them in the loop.

As for how long it lasts, that's just on a case-by-case basis. Gosh I'm no help, I'm sorry. Let us know what the vet says.

Its ok. Despite my efforts to keep Calvert calm, he does try to go play. I'll get a hold of my vet monday. Until then, im not gonna get worked up. Calvert's seems to be feeling ok, the drainage has decreased even more today. He is still on the antibiotics.. and the assumed new seroma pocket is small in size, not.getting bigger, and isn't hot to the touch. Chocolate...... need chocolate!! Lol

OMD!! I ove that picture of him sprawled out on the floor showing off that GREAT tee shirt!, I think I hafe a smile permanently splashed onto my face!,

Tha ks for taking the time to post this. I k ow you have your hands full but Calvert sure isn't stressing out about a thing!way-cool

Yeah, just keep a good eye on things, continue monitoring hisi attitdue.......which sounds terrific....and let your vet take a look at it Monday, maybe take his temperature then, etc. I think ole' Calvert is starting to turn the corner and get on with a full recovery and be his spunky self!

Now, on to more important things! You need to up YOUR meds to, not only include your daily dose of chocolate, but to include waffles with lots of whip cream and strawberries, and then a bowl of Ben and Jerry's ice cream (any flavor will do in extreme cases of stress). And if you drink wine, drink more. If you don't de
drink...start!!clap

Havea good week end and we'll look for your update Monday!
