Diane & Dusty that is terrific news! Paws up! Love that pic, by the way!
You might be surprised at his ability to swim and dive for balls in the water. Most Tripawds who enjoyed swimming before will still love doing it after amputation. You didn't say if he actually gets in the water, but if so, we recommend a Float Coat, which, although isn't necessary, it will help Dusty swim for longer periods of time.
The cooling beds are awesome. Our Gear "beds" page has info. As for the boots, they may or may not be necessary and care should be used when wearing them during hot weather, since a dog sweats through his paws and the boots shouldn't be left on for too long. Before investing in a pair, we always recommend making sure your dog will wear boots by testing them with an inexpensive option like the PawZ booties.
Hope this helps. Have a great week with your best friend!

She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
