Hey guys,
As you all know if you are brought to this site unfortunately your family has received heartbreaking information about your pet. I have been using this website for a little over a month and I cannot say how amazing it has been. My Great Dane, Dior was diagnosed with OSA in early April and we have since had amputation and round 1 of Chemo. I have decided to enter Dior into a clinical trial at U PENN but have been questioning my choice. I have recently heard of a new clinical trial and have been debating on seeing if i can switch. My dane just turned 4 and I have really been trying to see what options might work best for us. Does anyone have any information on these studies or other studies?
My current trial:

I don't have any specific information on either, but clicking through the links made me remember that I had seen something about rapamycin recently. Here is an article about it:
Active 10+ Pyr mix suddenly came up lame with ACL tear in left rear leg. Scheduled for a TPLO but final pre-op x-rays indicated a small suspicious area, possibly OSA, which could have caused the ACL tear. Surgeon opened the knee for TPLO but found soft bone. Biopsy came back positive for OSA. Became a Tripawd 9/18/14. Carbo6 with Cerenia and Fluids. Pain free and living in the moment. Crossed the Bridge on 7/12/15 after probable spread of cancer to her cervical spine. A whole lifetime of memories squeezed into 10 months. Here's her story: Eloise
Wow if you're in Dr. Mason's study for the HER-2 vaccine I would stick with it. See my post about her amazing work, scroll down to "Novel Therapies"

The Her2/neu vaccine study showed an astonishing median survival rate of 956 days for 18 dogs with osteosarcoma. Yes, that’s a 956 day average survival rate!
When I attended this discussion about the HER-2 trial, I was thrilled to hear Dr. Ehrhart of CSU say: “This is the first time I’ve had this much hope,” in the last 20 years of trying to treat osteosarcoma.
