Please see my latest blog update for the news on Abby.

Will write more later. Right now we have a date with the beach.

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

In your heart, where I belong.

Jackie, I posted a reply on your blog. I just want to make sure you know how many people admire you and Abby and how special she is to everyone here. She's yours, but she's ours, too. smile  If our wishes could heal her, she would be well. That's how much love there is for her.

{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}

My heart aches for you, we remember what it's like to hear that there are no more options. We are so, so sorry.

Please try to reframe things, as hard as it is. When cancer get to this point, it's really time to experience the moment by moment living. This is when it become critical, in order to enjoy what time we have left together.

As long as she is eating and enjoying life, it is still her time to be here on this earth with you.

We are going to give you both the biggest hugs ever next week, can't wait.

Tell Abby I'm coming, and when I see her, I'm going to give her a big giant kiss and then I'm gonna punch the living cr@p out of Boris and Natasha so that they GO AWAY and never, ever bother her or another dawg ever again.

I'm coming Abby. See you next week.

Da** it...Rough week on the tripawds site.  Levi, Spencer, and Abby 🙁  So sorry for your news...really sorry.  I know how you feel and it sucks.  Have fun at the beach.  We did a 5 mile trail run today.  It was fun.

Levi was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma 7-7-11
Ampuversary 10-14-11
Lung Mets Discovered 1-4-12. Chemo seemed to not be working so we switched to Artemisinin and other supplements. In May, Levi developed a sinus infection and started having seizures. The cancer had moved to his brain. We let him go 6-26-12.

Dear Abby,

I'm sorry you are very sick. I'm sorry I was mean to you.  I really did want to kiss you, really I did!  But I couldn't because I would look weak in front of the other monkeydogs.  And I'm a little guy and well...you know.

I gave you my piggy toy, not just because I didn't like it but because it made a oink oink oink noise and you like noises.  I could have given you the yellow bear that does nothing since I don't like it either but it doesn't make noises.  And I didn't spit on any of the stuff mommy sent.  I didn't even lick it!  I just said I was going to.

Please don't be sick.  Please!

I tried to post on your blog; but couldn't get it to take my comment, so I'll post it here.

I'm so sorry!  This is just all so hard on our pups and us.  Spencer was diagnosed today with lung mets and it is almost dejavu for me, our last doberman had lung cancer.  You'll know when it is time and it sounds like she isn't ready yet.  With Baron (our last doberman) he went down hill; but still had some spunk until... he didn't.  And we knew it was time to let him go.  But you know what?  He amazed all of the doctors with how long he lasted and how much it had to take over his lungs before he was ready.  ((hugs)) to you guys!

Jac and Angel Spencer.  Spencer was 5.25 years old. He fought a grade 3 fibrosarcoma, started on his shoulder.  Left front leg amputated in August 2011.  15 weeks of chemo finished 12/22/11 (mytox and adria).  Lung mets found on x-rays 12/28/11.  Started carboplatin 1/6/12. Went to Heaven on 2/27/12. I miss him like crazy every day.  See his blog here:  http://spencer.tripawds.com/

Abby,

We hope you had a fun day at the beach and enjoyed a Flying Dutchman (I think MBBVP gave me red eye too!)

Sending you dalmatian hugs

Adequate words escape me.
We hope for the best, we stay positive, we value every victory, but we all come to this point.
The strength you have gained on this journey will carry you these last steps. Do all your favorite things, eat all your favorite foods, go to all your favorite places. Or hang at home, just spend every moment together.
Keep us posted if you want, but don't worry if you don't. This is Abby's time.

Jackie, I just have no words to express my sorrow at this news.  Abby has been an inspiration to me through this ordeal and you have been more kind and helpful than I can describe.  You are both precious to me and my soul aches for you.  Apparently that "red eye" is quite contagious.  My prayers for strength, peace and happiness to you.  Give Abby a hug from me and Zeus and tell her thank you for giving us hope.

Lisa

Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11.  A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...
