I'm catching up. Wow. My heart aches for you. This is some awful, horrible, roller-coaster news. I'm glad to read his recent victory. Boy, let's hope some new meds, continual rest, IV fluids all help to get your boy back home to finish resting. Poor guy. Poor you! Sending SO many hugs your way. Keep the updates coming...

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!
He came home today! Not quite himself, but better. Fever came down to 99 this afternoon. I wanted them to keep. Him until tomorrow, but they thought he was ready. He is on all oral meds. Blood panel has been sent away to try and figure this out. I am nervous. I hope his temp stays down.
TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
That's progress! I know it's nerve wracking when your pup doesn't feel good, but the lower temp is a step in the right direction. Thanks for the update.
Amy & Libby
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

Sally and Happy Hannah
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
That's great news! I'm so happy to hear that Ty is home and his fever is down. He's a strong guy!
I don't blame you for being nervous. But, if anything happens (but of course nothing is going to happen!), you can just take him right back in. Please let us know how he is doing tomorrow.
Hugs,
Carol
He is home! They had him off the IV fluids and meds, so I am assuming that is the criteria for sending them home. I am so nervous! So afraid of doing something wrong or not doing something I should be. He is still definitely not himself, but better than when we went to visit him Monday night. Hopefully he will eat for me tomorrow morning. He is drinking. They are sending a vector borne blood panel out more to appease me than anything I think, but hey you never know. Obviously if he has no mets, it is an infection I would think. All the regular antibiotics have not helped so..... His fever was 99 last evening, they started Rimadyl back up and that brought it down. Thank you all for prayers.

Oh, I feel so silly! I just realized that my earlier post did go up. I had not logged in on my tablet and did not think it had gone up when I did. I am not the most tech savvy person in the world. Probably one of the least. sorry!

YESSS! So hoppy to hear he's home!!! I hope today is a very good day and he continues to be on the mend, please keep us posted OK? We're all thinking of you.
Appease you or not I'm glad they're sending that panel out. A few years ago we had a member demand the same thing and they discovered her dog had lepto, so good for you for being such a fantastic advocate.
Don't feel silly about posting twice, we loved reading the good news all over again.

Yeah, I bet, scary times having him home. But home is the BEST place to recover! Ty will bask in your love and care and get better! Who knows from what, but I guess until that blood panel comes back, keep those good drugs flowing. Normal/lowered temp is a great thing! Welcome home, Ty! I hope the night went OK. Post soon, since so many of us are pulling for your pup.
HUGS

Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. "Like" Jill's facebook page: https://www.fac.....tty?ref=hl Proud member of the WINTER WARRIORS!!!! Her blog can be read at http://jillsjou.....ipawds.com. xoxo

Shelby Lynne; Jack Russell/Shiba Inu mix. Proud member of the April Angels of 2014.
October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014
Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Temp was 102.8 this AM early, 101.6 @10;30 am. Rimadyl seems to lower it a bit. I had to give him PIZZA this morning to get food into him. I needed food to give meds. I have been such a food police, I cant believe I actually fed that to him He is still quite slow to move around. Wanted to jump onto couch today, but did not have the energy. My husband is ready to let him go......I am not!! I am convinced that we can treat this(if we ever find out what it is) I know he is just having problems seeing this big strapping 85 lb. dog waste away and lay around. I just want to give him every chance I can and not do something I will later regret. The money also becomes an issue, I should give him a nice car name! Trichevy or Tridodge. only kidding, but I know you can all relate. If anyone has any ideas that actually have food value, let me know. He is still gobbling up his meds in cheese, maybe I should make him a baked Brie What does not work: canned chicken, scrambled eggs, special canned dog food.

What's wrong with pizza? It has some great food groups in it! . Seriously though, right now I would let him eat anything he wants to eat.
I'm happy he's getting around, even if he is on the slow side, and that he has an interest in getting on the couch. And so happy that he has you to take care of him!!!
Hugs,
Carol
