We just got back from our regular vet awhile ago today.......I found another small growth on Polly last week, on her right rear leg, mid thigh, and we did an aspirate biopsy on it. As usual, it came back as inconclusive, but a recurrence of mast cell has pretty much been eliminated. However, it could be a recurrence of what we are currently fighting in hemangiosarcoma, or it could be a third different soft tissue cancer. I guess the positive thing is, we are acting as quick as possible, and removing it with as wide of margins as possible, and wait for better biopsy results. She is scheduled for surgery next Thursday, the 30th. We also did her 3 month post amp chest x-rays today, and am very happy to say that they are still completely clear for now, and staying as positive as possible on this. We know that another leg amp is out of the question, but any new lumps or bumps we find, we will take a very proactive approach to remove them, and hope for the best.

I will give another update next week on my sweet, fighting girl after her surgery.

You are amazingly proactive, 3-paws up to you! I'm sorry you found another lump. Ugh!

Keep up the great outlook and approach. You are winning this battle even if it probably doesn't feel like it. The way you win is by telling cancer to take a hike and living life as best you can. You are doing great at that!

Good luck to you and Polly on her surgery next week......and praying for wide clear margins.

Glad to hear her lung xrays are clear!

Great job in catching that Bonnie.  My vet always advised a weekly check or feel over by me to make sure there wasn't any other lumps or bumps.  I do that with Bosch. Of course I am always wondering if he is limping.  I guess it could be a left over from Sassy.  I just get worried and I am sure that is normal after Osteoscaroma in Sassy.  But I am very glad you are being proactive and doing surgery on Polly to get that lump out.

Great job & great out look.

Hugs

Thanks to everyone, and Michelle, your are so right. Polly's oncologist told us we have to be very observant, and suspicious of every lump and bump she gets, now. He doesn't want us to be paranoid, but just more prepared to take the proactive approach. I check Polly very often and while I always fear I'll find something, I just have to remember we will do what we can as quickly as we can.
Polly was outside after her vet appt today kicking up her 3 legs, enjoying running around in the snow, so she is enjoying life which is all I can ask.
