Caring for a Three Legged Dog or Cat

So yesterday, Oliver had an incision check for being 4 days since surgery and they said he was good, took his bandages and sent him home.

Fast forward to evening where one, maybe two of the stitches are dribbling watery amounts of blood. Not a huge amount and the stitches don't look mangled (though Oliver licking at them through two layers was what caught my attention), but there was enough seepage to leave red spots on my quilt. Family did an emergency freak out and we decided to vet wrap the area. I noticed there was another couple spots under where he slept there this morning. He is, otherwise, in good spirits. Ate breakfast, drank water, seems alert.

So my question is this: am I panicking for no reason? Should I go to the vet and request they re-wrap and keep the area wrapped until the seepage stops or should I be doing this at home? we used a simple inelegant round and I think we are all a little nervous about going too tight and cutting off something he normally does, like breathe. My biggest concerns are the amount of blood - it's not enormous by any stretch but it's enough to have like five or six fair circles beneath where he's been lying over night. Is that too much? And then of course I am worried about if they're being caused by him shifting or moving and thus slightly stretching the skin and stitches and every time they do, Oliver starts licking.

Curious if unsettling observation: he's never tolerated the cones before, even the soft one. Last night, I put one on until he was dead passed out. This morning I did again and hasn't gone for it. In the past, he's always pawed them off. I wonder if he doesn't have the confidence in lifting his right arm up to do anything without the left there to anchor him, even when the left one was bad.  🙁 (tho perhaps in the long run, a good thing).

So in short, how reactive should I be about this? Is this just one of those things we need to handle at home or -?
