Max gets to come home tomorrow!!!!!!!!! They just called and said he did very well with coming off of the Fentanyl IV and on to oral meds. He is happy and actually hanging out with the girls in the surgical ward. He seems to have won them all over with that Labby personality! His ambulation is good and he is not having much problem with balance. I hope that things remain this good when we get him home. We are an hour and half from the hospital and the rides are not easy on him. Im so excited that he will be back with us and we can give him lots of love and attention. Im ready to sleep on the floor for a few nights again! We are going tonight to stock up on treats for his xmas stocking and get him a new orthopedic bed so he has one upstairs and one down. Hes not spoiled......nah!!! WooHoo my Maxi is coming home!!!!!

Awwww, what a fantastic Christmas present!
While you're stocking up on treats, you may want to stock up on some of his favorite foods, in case his appetite isn't there when he comes home and gets settled. It happens a lot, but usually isn't something to be too concerned over. Typically it's a result of the pain meds, they make a lot of dogs not want to eat.
Many many hugs and well wishes for a speedy recovery! Keep us posted.
