If it weren't for small blessing, sometimes there just wouldn't be any at all. Besides, I think the things you listed are huge! It's so weird how the most random, seemingly insignificant things sometimes fit together to make something that works out so well. Good luck to you and Zip for a great recovery!
Leslie
Zip came home today. If I could figure out how to get her picture my daughter took of her riding home, sitting up and looking real happy I would post it. Barely is eating but that is not a surprise, napping lots but happy. Not ar depressed as when she lost her leg. That is one of her tricks, you ask her if she's lost something and she touches her stump. Don't know yet what the new chemo will be or how it will effect her heart but we have two of the best working on a protocol and with all the other supplements hopefully we will have more time with her but we have today!
This group is the best support and all of us thank you for hanging in with us. Hoping the histology report will show liver okay. I hate cancer. It is so sneaky and stealthy and I wish I could just give it a good bite.
glad to hear zip is home!!! paws crossed for speedy healing and good results from your chemo!
charon & gayle
Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.

She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Zip looks happy to be with you. I am glad to read she is handling it well! I also think that is a great trick of hers, touching the stump 🙂
I think your attitude is really good and just what you need to help you in dealing with all the things on your plate. We are hoping for good things to come your way!!

Glad she is doing well so far! Really is a cute trick! Chole has a ticklish spot and when I rub it, she wiggles her stump! I hope she continues to do well!
-Chloe's mom
Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog
Sammy and Zip share the same amputation day.. Zip wil be at my house today but won't be able to swim with the other dogs. Hope the squirrelavision is working so she will stay occupied other than watching what is cooking on the grill. Not too certain yet what kind of diet she will now need. Between the cancer diet, her kidney diet, heart stuff and now slpeenless in Austin, I am becoming a short order cook!
AND would not have it any other way if it helps! Anyone else fixing for a spleenless dog?
Okay, just when I thought I was getting somewhat on top of cancer information and spleen info, Zip's best friend and other daughter's dog has come up with a mass the size of orange in his liver. Ultrasounds of all other areas look good including radiographs of lungs. A biopsy will be done on Tuesday on the opposite side of town from where Zip will be getting her new chemo so I shall be split that day. Anyone have a comment on liver masses that don't appear right now to have come from elsewhere? Wonder if those darn ultrasounds are causing all this, no I know better but I am getting gunshy of doing scans of other dogs.
I really need some input from someone whose dog has been on doxrubicin. Zip started not feeling good on day 2 of new treatment. Started throwing up and having diarrhea on day 3 and still is having both problems on day 4 though the throwing up isn't so frequent since they upped her meds. Can someone else tell me how long it lasted with your dog and yes I know all to well they all are different but I need to see some light ahead.
So sorry bordergirl, I missed your post(s)!
I can't help you at all but maybe someone else can chime in.
I'm so sorry Zip isn't doing well.

In case you missed it, we just posted this video interview with Dr. Johnny Chretin discussing the side effects of Doxo vs. Cisplatin. See all our oncology videos here, including Dr. Chretin talking how chemo is not necessarily effective for "bulky tissue" disease.
