Amalia,

I'm so very, very sorry. My heart breaks for you. You fought so hard for her. Your love for her was so strong.

Sending you love and strength.

while at the rehab dept with our sweet martha the team fitted her with a great harness. we found most harnesses available designed for front amputees. it was frustrating to find one to adequately help us help her. the Help'Em Up harness has a handle at the rear ("hip lift") and one at the shoulder honches. it's by Blue Dog Designs.
i am so sad we weren't able to help martha with it outside the hospital. unfortunately no one from surgery told us the rehab dept upstairs carried it. a perfect harness for our girl. i am so so sad.

thought i'd pass it on.

Amalia, please accept my sincere, and heartfelt sympathy for your loss of sweet Martha.....it seems I cannot turn off my own tears and heartbreak, because I deeply feel the terrible loss, when the worst happens to one of us with our beloved furry babies. I pray in time, happy memories of Martha ease the awful pain in your heart.

{{{{hugs}}}} and keeping you in my thoughts....

Oh Amaila, I'm just sitting here shaking my head in disbelief. Your heart is shattered and no words can help right now.

I will say this, when my dog who had "liver issues" started showing yellow tint in hks ears, then eyes, then gums, he went down very quickly. So, regardless of everything else that was most likely going on internally with yojr Martha, to me, the yellow tinged skin, meant tha the liver was failkng. So I don't think there was anything that cojld have been done att his point.

My heart just breaks for you...this just saddens me to no end for you. You gave every ounce of yourself to her well-being and MARTHAT KNEW THAT!! She KNEW everythn you j did for her was out of love!! She knew that! Nobody could have done more! Your devotin and commitment to helping Martha were incredible. You bave her the best possible chance...and she deserved to jave that chance.

Everyone here was pullng soooooo hard for you and Martha!! You are a team...a team with an unbreakable connection! Nothing can separate you two.

If you ask Martha, this whole joirney ws worthnit because she still got more time with you... and that's all that ever mattered to her. She also knows, as only dogs can, that she is still nestled in your heart. It is those wonderful memories you and she created together that will help glue you broken heart back together again. Maybe not today, or tomorrow, bjt soon, becuse zmarthat wojld not want you to be sad. ZMarthat wants to see you happy evdrytime you think of her as soon as you can.

PZLEASE stay connected to us and let us help support yo during this time of grief and despair. We understand like no others can. If we could, every s gle one ofus in ghis community would fly straight tonyou and hug you ghrough ths. Martha lived a life of purpose. She touched or hearts ista tly! She wil ZNEVER be forgotten here!

Martha wants you to do so ething. For o e brief second, think of so ething she did that made you smile....was it a so d she made...a look she gave when you were going to give her a great....just think of one thing....ueah, ghat's it.....that made Martha wag her tail knowng she made yo smile!

Stay here, let us help hold you up.

Sending you love and surrou ding you with Martha's infinite grace!

RIP sweet Martha.

Kathi and Murphy

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

Dear Sweet Amalia...

I today you even feel more despair and debilitating sadness than yesterday...if that's evenpossible. To not jave Martha there yyour side, to no longer be focusingon the "daily rituals"...the rituals of lovng and spoilig as well as caregicing...the void seems endless.

That void will soon fill in with her lovng memories, the good tmes, the smiles, the tail wags.

While this journey, beginnng with her spleen removal, has been very disheartening, it has als been filled with the giftof time you gave her to have more tummy rubs, more ear scratches, more sacred tme together by your side, more loving and spoiling than most dogs have in a lifetime!

And Martha would not have wanted it anyother way. She wanted to stay withnyou as long as possible, yet, she also knew you wold help her cross over to the other side of life when staying here was just too hard. She IS healthy and whole now. She IS still bynyour side, just through another dimension and energy. She will eventualy be able to reach through yor layers of grief and you will KNOW she is withnyou andyou will KNOW she is feelng great!

Just wanted you to kow we are all jere for you. Nothing can dim that beautiful light Martha shared with us! Ilove her name...it has a sweetness, an old wise soul style about it. We love her...and you.

Surroningy you with Martha's eternal grace.
