Hey there Maddie and family ย ๐Ÿ’•

So glad to hear all is going as expected and your girl went out 3 times ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ that shows how much of a fighter she is ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿพ

Getting in the car will be no problem, either they will help her getting in or she will jump in as Eurydice did, Miss Cow was SO happy to ย go with her Mommy that she did exactly that as me, the vet and 2 techs were discussing how we'd do it ๐Ÿ˜‚

Are your daughters able to help Maddie get out of the car when you get back?

Sending you lots of hugs and ear scratches to sweet Maddie ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿ’ซโœจ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒน

Eurydice 77kg/170lb Great Dane limping end of April 2016, amputation (right front leg/osteosarcoma) 4ย May 2016 6 courses of carboplatin followed by metronomic therapy, lung mets found 30ย Nov 2016. 3 courses of doxorubicin, PET scan 26 Jan 2017 showed more mets so stopped chemo. Holistic route April 2017. Lung X-ray 5 May 2017 showed several tennis ball size mets, started cortisone and diuretics. Miss Cow earned her XXL silver wings 12 June 2017, 13 months and 1 week after amputation and 6 1/2 months after lung mets, she was the goofiest dawg ever and is now happily flying from cloud to cloud woof woofing away :-)ย

Loki got the royal treatment... wheeled out on a gurney and hoisted into the car, and he was only 65lbs! I suspect Maddie will get the same assistance to the car! ๐Ÿ™‚ So glad that she's getting up and going pee! We'll be cheering Maddie on! ~Brittnie and Lokiย ย

๐Ÿพ Loki, Dog of Mischief ๐Ÿถ

I loved life as a tripawd for over three years following right forelimb amputation due to an aggressive and recurrent hemangiopericytoma. I reclaimed my place among the gods and valkyries in Valhalla on November 11th, 2020. My parents miss me tremendously, but I know they'll keep me in their hearts forever... and don't worry, I've approved my mom's use of my Tripawds account.

Mads is home!!ย  They called me at 8 a.m. and said she was ready to head out.ย  They felt that she would do better at home since she wouldn't eat for them and was barely drinking.ย  Turns out I didn't have to worry about the car - I got there about 9 a.m. and they brought her out the side door and she went straight for the car and got in!ย  Getting out was a challenge but my daughter's boyfriend went with us so he and my daughter got her out.ย  She went right inside and straight to the back door - we went out - she peed as she was walking lol and then plopped down in the grass and was like "I'm done".ย  ย She doesn't like the sling or a sheet - she just lays back down when we put it on her.ย  We did eventually convince her to come inside and she ate a can of food, took her pills, then had three Stella & Chewy patties and went to sleep.ย  The only problem we're having is she keeps sliding off her bed onto the floor and she does not want us to move her back (it's just my daughter and I here now and she outweighs us both lol - so moving her without the sling or a sheet is a challenge.ย  ย  Her wound is seeping a lot but we are icing it.ย  At this point, we just let her lay on the carpet with her head on the bed - she is sleeping and seems comfortable!ย  I'm trying to load pics of her in the car on the way home so I can share them!

YAAAAAAAAAY MADDIE IS HOME!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ย  HOME SWEET HOME!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

And already peeing and eating and drinking...YAY! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

My Happy Hannah wpild jave nothing to do with a slingย  either!ย ย  Sounds like Mads is doing just fine without it.

And yeah, if she slides onto the dloor, that's fine.ย  She's still druggy and it takes a lot of effort and focus for her to maneuver back on it.

Some drainage is nor al.ย  If it gets vloddy or puss or yellowish then thst could mean an infection starting.ย  Doesn't happen too much though.

You're doing a great job!!!'ย  And the voyfriend gets a gold star!

Hugs

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
