crying vet found what hey honks may be Lymphocytes in fluid he took out of seroma tonight. I am just in disbelief. What more can happen to my boy. I would never have taken things to this point if I knew that was going to happen. I thought about just quoting tonight, but he said that he did not want to jump the gun. So we are off to internal med. dr. Tomorrow AM. I have a slide to take to her. I do not understand, his scans and bloodwork were all spot on last week. Vet said also some cellulitis. I am still not convinced that this did not originate from injection months ago. That is when he started to go downhill. I know that did not cause Lymphoma if that is what it is, but if it isn't then maybe we can analyze the fluid and try to get answers. I WANT MY DOG BACK! If it is in fact Lymphoma, then I cannot put him thru anymore. His body seems so worn out. This is not the vision I had. I kept envisioning him running around in our backyard in the grass. The fact that we still have snow on the ground makes that impossible along with the fact tHat he can hardly stand up. Back on pain meds as vet did not want to drain. I think he is more comfortable with other vet doing it. I just wanted to make sure he would be ok thru night. Was afraid he would smother from fluid. I am so sad tonight:crying

I'm so sorry :( I'm sorry for ty that he has to endure so much. If only we had a crystal ball. .:( I'm sorry you have to deal with all of his struggles too. It's not fair. Please hang in there. Know we are all supporting you no matter what path you choose, and most of all praying there is a silver lining to all of this. .

Ok, I looked up Lymphocytes quick and it looks like they are white blood cells? I read that they'll be present near an infection. So maybe they are there because of the seroma . Don't give up hope yet!! I'd wait to see what the Internal med doc says about the slide. Sometimes recovery can be hard, and he's still in the process. It'll take him a little while to get his energy back up and thats completely normal. seroma 's can be pretty frightening because they look so terrible but he'll heal from that too!!

I don't have much experience with this but I'm hoping someone hops on here soon that does!

I agree with Elizabeth. Did he actually say lymphoma? Lymphocytes are tested on all of Jill's blood work so I know HAS them....

Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. What you jave gone through is unimaginable! UNIMAGINABLE!!

Yo HAVE to hold on yet one more time and TRY not to jump ahead!! I KOW that seems impossible right now...but you've been able to rein yourself in before and yo CAN do it again!! You MUST ! This is not the end of the road....you may FINALLY be making progress towards solutiins!! I also find it hard to believe with al the clear tests that this is what you're dealing with.

FINALLY....maybe....you are getting some answers! And with answers comes a plan and maybe some treatment to get you that quality time you've been wanting.

What I wouldn't give..we all wouldn't give..to make Ty feel better. It can STILL happen.

Maybe yo could pop one or two of Ty's pain pills for yourself tonight to get some sleep!!clown

Goodness knows we are all still here with you. How you've kept your sanity is beyond me...but you have and yoj WILL get this sorted out!!

Sendingyou so much love.

Sally and Happy Hannah

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Thanks all! He did say the L word:( he said that what he was looking at was not just white cells but what appeared to be Lymphocytes. Wound is awful looking swollen and seeping a bit. I am praying that we go to other vet and just have to drain. It would be so nice to get an easy answer for once. Sally, only one or 2 of Ty's pills LOL. He has the pharmacy of a 98 year old man. Sleeping well on pain meds. Hope he gets rest tonight.

Also theses were not in his blood, but were in fluid taken from seroma . I would have thought they would have shown up in bloodwork last week. Telling myself this anyway.

WOW...I cannot even imagine and I don't even know what to say ... I am so sorry. Beyond sorry. It's just not fair. This post has a ton of great advice so I won't add any (since I don't have any since this is unchartered for me) but know that I am holding you BOTH in my thoughts and prayers!!!

Hugs

Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. I'm so sorry you are on this roller coaster ride.  But I agree with others, don't give up hope yet.  It makes sense what others are saying about Lymphocytes vs lymphoma.  Could just be from the seroma .

Dang, it just shouldn't be this hard.  Thinking of you.  Hugs.

Amy & Libby

Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13.  Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14.  She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self.  Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

Actually Alison, what you have been through rivals what Ty has been through. Maybe there is yet hope.

It definitely has been a rough go for the both of us but we are very similar in that we fight so hard for our babies - even when others might say 'enough is enough' - Shelby WILL tell me when it's enough! 🙂

There is lots of hope to be had! I always go to the absolute dark side but this site has given me a lot of other options and peace of mind... Keep us posted!!! We are ALL fighting for you!

WAIT!! HOLD UP! The vet is saying he's developed a seroma , right?? Exacty how long af was his surgery?? Four weeks ago? What the heckis a seroma doing forming now??

Okay...one more POSSIBLR thing to check out! If Ty is having an INFECTION at the amputatin site..col it be possible that he has a staple or stitch still in there??? It just dawned on me that has happened at least once since I've been on the site. One dog was having pain, cojldn't recocer, kept avi g fever and fi alky...if I recall correctly, the staple started causing a noticeable swelling, i fection, etc.

HAVE THEM MAKE SURE NO INTERNAL STAPLES OR STITCHES ARE LEFT IN!!....

We'll figure this out...we will!!! Lotta' power in the tripawd Universe!

I don't have anything to add, except to let you know that you are in our thoughts tonight with big hugs going your way. We will be waiting for better news tomorrow.

Kathi and Murphy

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
