Fannnnnntastic!
Did she go potty on her potty walk? Not unusual if she didn't so don't panic.
Sorry your post disappeared, not sure why.

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!
IF you haven't seen your dog yet just get ready for pretty wild images. Just remember your dog will pick up on how you react to stay happy and remember that in 2 weeks the fur will be growing back, the black and blue will be gone and your hound will be up and hopping.
If you have wood floors get some area rugs. And no steps/jumping for two weeks.
Good luck Lexie!!!
Before I update, can I just say that y'all all the best? Really...you are. We wouldn't be here now without your wisdom and support.
Lexie got to come home late in the day today. They had told me the evening before that she had already been on one potty walk the night of her surgery. Pretty amazing!
When the day shift vet tech took her out this morning she thought it would be for a quick one and done, then back in. Not exactly...Lexie wanted to keep going. She thought it was finally time for her real walk! The VT said she can't remember seeing a recovery this good in years. Granted, it's been less than 48 hours, but wow...we were pretty amazed.
I tried to lift her out of the car and she slipped out and jumped on her own (which scared me to death, of course)...fortunately she was low to the ground already and didn't appear to rip any staples or stitches.
I only have one homecoming pic so far but it's a cute one -- you can see it at pinterest.com/pinsbydeb under Club Tripawd. Milo's been great with her. Need to run now, but more to come.
Thanks and hugs to all!

A few good things about Lexie's somewhat unusual delay in getting green-lighted for amputation...
- Less of an adjustment for her since her leg had gotten so painful she had already been holding it up to walk.
- She's been on her trusty trio of pain meds (Gabapentin, Tramadol, Rimadyl) for several weeks; no side effects so far.
- The post-op pain she's in is clearly less than what she had with the tumors + infection, so she's tolerating the after-effects of surgery very well.
She's been walking around on her three legs like a champ.
She wasn't that hungry when we got her home (about 24ish hours after surgery) but did eat a bit of chicken on top of her kibble.
After nap #1 she was ravenous and ate her whole bowl of kibble and more chicken. I was curious about how she'd be on her first real at home potty break. She didn't want us to pick her up to go down the front steps. I had bought a couple of used dog ramps off Craig's List and managed to sort of hook them together with the help of a riser box to make the angle work.
We used regular treats to lure her down the long ramp into the yard, and she was a little hesitant at first just because the ramp was an odd sensation for her but she made it down, and enjoyed hanging out in the grass after doing #1 and #2. Pretty great for the first night home!
She stayed out in the fresh air for a bit, and then we lured her back in with more treats. Up the ramp she went, then back to one of her dog beds. Go Lexie!

And good job Milo! When I re-introduced the pug girls after Maggie's surgery, Tani attacked her. Nothing like an alpha bit$h wanna be to make a new Tri-pug feel at home!
I hope your recovery is smooth sailing.
