Hi Everyone!
We hope everyone is doing well.
I just wanted to say hello and give a little update on how Leo is doing. He had a vet appointment Friday and his bloodwork came back almost perfect. His vet said his chemistry is perfect but his thyroid is a little low. He did gain a little weight but that was due to more inactivity and much, much shorter walks. He did lose 3 pounds in the last 3 weeks but he has a few more to go. His energy levels are still high and he is not losing any hair. The vet said low energy and hair loss are other signs of thyroid issues. We are just going to wait and retest in a few months and then we will decide whether he should take medicine or not. He is scheduled for a chest xray on March 16th. I am keeping my fingers crossed that things will look OK. He seems to be normal but that does not necessarily mean anything. Tomorrow will be 7 months since he was diagnosed. He is not receiving chemo. Tomorrow is also the 4 year anniversary of his adoption from the SPCA.
The bloodwork results have made me happy but I am still guarded because we have to wait and see what the xrays will show. He is doing so well and is a happy dog! He even managed to catch a lizard on Sunday which he hasn't done since his surgery. He sneaks up on them very slowly but he has had to modify his technique since surgery. I guess it is working!
Hugs,
Sheri and Leo

It is so wonderful to hear things like this...after all, it's what it is about right? Them being happy...congratulations on your milestones, every single one is so important to us tripawd lovers. Paws crossed that his xrays come back nice and clear.
Lots of love and good wishes
