Hi everyone! So Rosie did OK after her first chemo, in fact she seem to feel better after chemo than she did before. Date 12 her blood work showed that her neutrophils had dropped to 450, but after a week of antibiotics went back up to high normal.

They're using carboplatin (sp) for her and yesterday she had her second dose. According to the vet and the report all went well. Unfortunately, they changed the legs and happen to do the IV in the TPLO leg. Last night she  seemed just fine, but this morning woke up to limping and unable to put weight on the chemo leg.  Unfortunately I had to go to work today, and I was hoping that she would be better at by the time I got home. Not to be. She is still able to hop and walk, but is having difficulty getting in and out of the dog door and is limping pretty significantly.

I called the oncologist, and they just want me to keep an eye on her tonight.  I gave her some pain meds and was told to call them in the morning.

of course I'm freaking out! So I'm hoping that all my pawrents here can have some advice for us. Have you gone through this?

Actually , what jumped into my mind first was that they may have tweaked his leg a little bit when they put in the IV. Since that's the leg he had his earlier surgery on, it is probably still very susceptible to any kind of manipulation. You didn't mention any swelling so that's ggod.

Just checked with the on co in the morning and let them know what's going on. I know it's ridiculous to say not to worry, but there really shouldn't be anything to be too concerned about. Really!

Update us when you can and we will all be sending positive energy in the meantime!

Hugs!
