Thank you all for the kind words. Making the decision to end your best friends life while he looks at you with unconditional love is the hardest thing in the world. Although I know he only had suffering in his future it doesn't make it any easier. My wife is much better the last two days. It hit her hard she works from home and has spent 24 hrs a day with Kodi. She has contacted the breeder we got Kodi from and has contacted 2 others who breed show quality yellow /cream labs. I imagine we will have another puppy in our near future.Kodi on the Nor Cal beachImage Enlarger

Another dog never takes the place of one that is gone, but I definitely believe it can help ease our pain. Kodi is looking down and smiling, happy that another dog will have such a wonderful family.

Hugs,
Carol

I am so very, very sorry. So sorry. I just now saw your post and, like everyone here, was stunned when read it.

This is the most awful disease...just awful. Younhad every reason to believe Kodi would be with yoj so mich longer. Clearly itmhas already taken it's course a while back and nothing wouldhave stopped it.

I knowone thing...he had more loving and spoiling and tummy rubs in his lifetime than any ten dogs ever could! And I also know he was pain free and doing great snce his amputation! And in a dog's life, one monthof over-the-top loving and spoilng is equal to about six or seven months (in dog years)! It wasn't about the amointof time anyway...it's always bout whatever time he had, he was loved.

The pictures snd video you shared were just beautiful. Please share more. He's such a handsme boy!

I know you hearts are shttered right now. We all understnd the unparalleled love you feel for zKodi...and he fornyou. Zthe wnderful memories you had will eventual help glueyour heart back together again. Kodi KNOWS you did everything possible for him and hemhad the best time beingmyor partner. The best!

Please jnow this to be true...Kodi's life mattered andhis presence here warmed allofour hearts. Kodi will NEVER be forgotten here!

Kodi is not waiting on the other side of the door...right. That's because he's walking beside you always now.superstar

Please stay connected...we are family. Cannot wait to see who Kodi picks for you to shre the wonderful love you gave him with aother lucky up.

Surroundingnyou with Kodi's eternal grace snd loving light.

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Oh what beautiful photos, thank you for sharing them with us.

Yes, there is a significant void when you no longer have the furballs, the routines, the barking, the hoppy, wagging tail to greet you. Opening your heart to another dog is a great way to honor the love you and Kodi shared, as well as pass along his lessons to a brand new pup.
