Hi All,
For those who have not been in the chat room to witness my nightly heart attack the last few nights, I'll give a quick update. Jill decided to give me an anxiety attack on sunday night and have a hacking attack for about a minute. It was about 2-3 minutes after I had given her 1/4 of a pepcid pill and her nightly fish oil, but of course I was still concerned. She then gave another cough the following evening. She was already scheduled to have the lung xray today as she is halfway through chemo. Anyway, as you can imagine, I have been freaking out to put it mildly.
Dropped her off this morning and they told me radiology would see her by 11am, so I shouldn't wait around (ugh.). I did wait while they examined her and her oncologist did say she is definitely having some bad acid reflux as a side affect from the chemo (she has been belching a lot as well), so we will up her pepcid dose.
By the time I had gotten to work, I already had the email - LUNGS ARE CLEAR. Yay! Thanks Jill. I totally get it now. You hate your fish oil. But guess what, now you're getting MORE! hahahahaha
So that is the update for now. I will get another email once the carboplatin has been administered and she is resting.
Thank you to everyone for putting up with my paranoia and for sending all your well wishes. I could definitely feel you rooting for us this morning.
And for those of you who haven't seen this yet, here's a picture of Jill with her "game face" on ready to kick cancer butt:
Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. YES! Paws up for Jill and Erica! I'm incredibly happy and relieved for you! Keep it up, Winter Warrior (but Jill may want to work on her 'game face' as she's far too adorable in that photo to look fierce).

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!

Way to go Jill! Erica, does this mean there's no need for wine in the chat room ?
I agree with dharma, that picture is definitely calendar worthy.
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14
Wonderful news! Jill looks really chilled out like there's nothing in the world to worry about. Worry is for humans!
Karen and Spirit Magnum
Magnum: 30th May 2002 to 5th May 2012. Lost her back left leg to osteosarcoma on 5th Sep 2011. Lung mets found on 20th Mar 2012 but it was bone mets in the hip that ended her brave battle. Magnum's motto - "Dream as if you'll live for ever, live as if you'll die today" (James Dean). Loyal, loving, courageous and spirited to the end. My beloved heart dog, see her memoirs from Rainbow Bridge ...... http://princess.....pawds.com/

I hate to point out the obvious, but hello, Jill's a cat. They hack up fur balls.
Seriously, so glad our little angel had a great update. I know you are relieved. It is part of their job to scare the living hell out of us as they make this journey. I can't tell you the number of times pure panic set in for me in the 27 1/2 months we fought the battle.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
