Whoo hoo, Holly! What an amazing update! We knew that you were a fighter and you proved us right! Sophie - you must be so relieved and proud of your little pup! I've been searching for your update each day and this one was well worth waiting for! Hugs from NYC ~ Stacy and Griffin
Griffin lived an amazing life for 11 years! Diagnosed with osteosarcoma on March 17, 2020, Griffin's right forelimb was amputated on April 2, 2020. Ten days later he was running and playing fetch! Lung metastasis discovered in July 2020 did not slow down Griffin and he lived joyfully for the next 7 months, passing peacefully at home on February 11, 2021. https://griffin.tripawds.com
I am so glad that your doc was diligent and got to the bottom of the problem.
Pseudomonas can be treated, it's just that it is very resistant to a lot of medications.
If there is necrotic skin, they may have to sedate her just long enough to debride that dead skin off of her so that it can heal. It is a much more minor procedure!
Im so glad you guys are starting to do better!!

HOOOOLY SMOKES!! We were all holding and breath and, as Stacy said, checking your thread non-stop the past two days! That swoosh of air uou felt at your house was not a tornado... it was your tripawd family exhaling a huge sigh of relief!!
This goes down in history as one of the happiest updates in history!!😀😀 Yes, there are still hurdles, but they are "doable" now that some of the bigger hurdles are starting to be managed👍
Gosh, so many things to say YAY for! So I'm just gonna say one big YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY. FOR HOLLY.....AND FOR YOU!!!. CELEBRATE LIKE CRAZY!!!!
Th e infections do happen. So what anti is she on for that?? The wound not closing properly does happen sometimes too. It may require another surgery AND it may not. The path you are taking to see if it can heal from the inside to the outside is sort of the "normal" path. Then, if neseccary, the surgery can do the trick. Just keep it chunked down for now and see how things unfold.
We MIST have another picture and video of this most adorable pup!!!
We know you have your hands full and we were TRYING to be patient. We failed! But it was worth the wait!!
Loads of higs and love!
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Ps...list saw Jackie's reassuring follow -up. Holly, you've got this!!

Wheeeee! Oh how terrific that you have answers! I haven't heard of that type of infection before but I know that superbugs are super scary. Thankfully you know what's going on and can attack those suckers and get her healthy. I hope she doesn't need another surgery, but we've seen many Tripawds go through the same procedure for the same reasons and things worked out well. See Kala's story:

Good job being her best advocate! I love that she is getting stronger by the day and being such a rock star. She has a real fighting spirit that is helping her win this battle. YAY!

Thanks guys!!! We are celebrating with food and cuddles. Its been a roller-coaster and you have all been AMAZING. So thank you, from me and Holly!
Kala's story has given me hope. Thank you.
Latest is the infection is better still and she's got one area of an open wound through to muscle layer. The area was debrieded today so Hol is very sleepy but seems in no pain, we're taking it easy now.
She still tried to get up twice this morn (before vets, way too sleepy right now).
She's on a cocktail of antibiotics to stop any other bacteria from causing infection too.
Hopefully the open area might start to knit together soon... Fingers and paws crossed.
No physio today as she's sleeping it off
A sleepy Holly and a positive Holsmum xo
Hopefully the debridement and antibiotics will be enough for Holly to finally turn this corner and be well on her recovery journey! You are doing an amazing job with her, Sophie, and you both have come so far from just a few days ago. Thanks for the updates. We are cheering here in NYC! ~ Stacy

So glad things are starting to go your way! It really can be a scary rollercoaster ride because everybody is different. Sometimes they slide through with no issues, sometimes things just need a little tweak, and sometimes things just crop up and best thing you can do is buckle up for the ride and take each thing one at a time. You got that ride im afraid, but thank goodness Holly has you to take care of her!!!
You really ARE doing a great job, even if you can't see it from there❤
Hopefully things will be smoother now for the both of you!

I am just amazed at your girl, and how you are keeping such a great attitude. Jackie is right, we just never know when someone will have an extra hard time during recovery, it can happen to anyone regardless of age or breed. You are making progress with each day and a full recovery is in Holly's future. Enjoy the day off and snuggle up!

Awww thanks guys! It's been one hell of a journey but I'm really hoping we're just going to continue going in the right direction. Keep everything crossed and prayers for her please 🤞❤️
Hopefully the wound closes up now and this infection is on its way out!
She's currently fast asleep on her incision so she must be comfortable.
Will keep you all updated.
Lots of love to everyone and their furbabies

Just a quick check in to see how you are all doing. I hope all is well and Holly is continuing to recover and heal.

Aww thank you Jackie and Huck, and Stacy!
So big news!!! Holly stood up and walked (hopped) about a foot to her food bowl!!! We're absolutely amazed and super happy here tonight.
It's huge and it may not be far and we still have a long recovery but its definitely such an improvement from a week ago!
Lots of love
Holly and her mum xo
