Hi friends,

Anyone have advice how long a typical histopath report takes to come back? I talked to the vet today and his still isn’t back. It will be 2 weeks on Monday since surgery. I’m starting to panic because we need it to start our treatment.

Thanks as always,

Finn and Casey

It really depends on which lab they sent it to. Two weeks seems extra long though. I wonder if it has something to do with the pandemic situation?

Don't panic, I know it's hard not to but it won't fix the situation right? Many dogs go much longer between amputation and chemo, so in the big picture two weeks isn't that big of a deal (although I know if feels like foreeeevvvver!). Stay strong and call your vet office again on Monday if you don't hear back by mid-day.

FWIW, my Happy Hannah didn't  start her chemo until three plus weeks.  I felt  like she needed  more recovery  time.  That happens jere sometimes..even .longer because of recovery hurdles.  The Onco was fine with that window of time.

Just to double check though, ask your Vet to call Monday.  Tjey wont take  uoir call, but they will rake the Vet.

Thank you both so much.

Patience is not one of my strengths 😆And I think I’m already beating myself up for waiting as long as we did to amputate, so I’m anxious to get things rolling.

I suppose it could be pandemic-related. I will call them Monday afternoon if nothing back and maybe ask if they can call to expedite.

Thanks again, ladies! Xx

We can all relate.  Patience is not something  we are very familiar  with around here!!
