Doc has me using Durmavet on her, but every so often I will use a little bag balm 🙂 She 2 weeks post op as of yesterday She's just a trooper and has become so affectionate!! She's been through a lot in her 11 years and I want to make her remaining years the best for her however I can Bubba J Binky Butts, yes that's his official name, is 10. He has been one of the healthiest dogs I have ever had! I showed doc a picture of it yesterday and he says he can remove it, but Bubba will loose a tooth or 2. I'll find out more about it Saturday morning. The joys of having fur kids! If it isn't the dogs, it's one of the 12 head of horses that we have! It's just been one of those years
Oh ok, that's a new one to me. I found a description here, for anyone interested: https://www.pat...../PIF_31974
So glad to hear that just two weeks out she's already getting her sparkle back! That's pretty quick for a mature gal. Must be her amazing farm life that's keeping her young. TWELVE horses? Wow! Very cool.
Poor Bubba, I hope the removal doesn't cause too much pain. Fingers crossed for an easy day for all of you.

Dermavet seems to be doc's go-to. He recommends it for a number of things. I'll give you a little background on Miss Holly. She came into our lives June of 2012. She lived with a family that had 9 kids ranging from 3yrs to 18yrs. The younger kids liked to waller all over her, so when I got her, she was extremely timid. She came with double ear infections and a skin condition that covered her entire body with scaly/scabby skin. The ear infections will always be a constant battle. They never removed her dewclaws and they had litteraly grown into a circle and back into her legs. Her nails were just as bad. She lived in the middle of a city with little turnout. Very nice folks, but very little knowledge of taking care of animals. Prefered to do everything a holistic way. It took a year and a half to get her skin condition under control. Her dewclaws were surgically removed. Constant work on her ears to this day. She never really wanted to be petted or loved on, until a little over a year ago, after spaying and a mammary tumor being removed. Then she would tolerate a little bit of affection. Now that she has had the amputation, she is a completely different dog! She wants her belly rubbed, she follows us everywhere! She doesn't run and hide if company shows up. Instead she greets them and wants attention! She's finally having the quality of life that she deserves! We're making her feel better and she knows it
Wow Holly is such a lucky girl to find her way to you. Thank you for sharing her story. It's so sad but with a hoppy ending!
You have quite a way of caring for her, it sounds like it's been a lot of work but of course so worth it. You were definitely meant to be together. 3-paws up to Team Holly!
