Hi everyone! It has been a while since I last posted. I thought I would let everyone know how Gracie has been doing.
Gracie turned 10 on April 21st. She had a great birthday. We invited her cousins (people cousins) and granpawrents. She got 2 BIG stuffed bunnies that she loves to sleep with..oh & some healthy natural grain free treats.
Gracie is doing great. She had her last chemo treatment back in November & we have been doing chest x-rays every other month . Her last chest x-ray was clear & looked good. She is still on a grain-free
diet & I continue to cook for her 2 times a day. During her last check-up, she weighed in at a whopping 65lbs. That is 10lbs. up in 2 months.
Gracie also continues to take her Immunity pills along with other good supplements. She is still very playful. She picks out a toy every night to have me & her dad play with her. She plays very rough.
Three legs has not slowed her down at all. She gets on and off of the couch and runs and plays. The only place that Gracie could not go, without help, was on the bed. We would pick her up and would worry about her jumping off and hurting another leg. I was not surprised when I came home from school and found her & her daddy sleeping in the bed…mattress on the floor. My husband had taken our bed completely apart and put the mattress on the floor so Gracie could get up and down off the bed. She loves this change.
Gracie is now going on month 10 since diagnosis. We are happy that she is doing so well. We are looking forward to summer and spending some special time together.
The love a person can have for their pet is immeasurable! We love her very much. She has taught me so much over the past 10 years. I could never repay her for all that she has given me.
Wow, Gracie is doing great! That really makes me happy. I got a good chuckle out of the bed story. We are so worried about Trouble hurting herself jumping from the bed. We removed our bed from the bedroom before we picked her up after surgery. The first week we all slept on the floor. The second week we moved the mattress back into the room. We've been sleeping like this since December. So, fear not, you are not alone!

Congratulations to Gracie and all the family. Such success stories lift the spirits of all of us who are going down this journey. I set up a special bed for Cherry and I to sleep together following her operation and through the chemotherapy. It allowed me to keep a close touch with her through the night. One night after the "last stop outside" she took one look at that bed and proceeded to her own bed along side our bed. No coaxing in the world could budge her. She felt that it was time to return to normalcy. They communicate in very special ways.
We will definitely be thinking of you as we cross Nevada tomorrow on the way to Yellowstone. We send you all the positive thoughts and will be looking forward to more great update, and again thanks for the uplifting update.
