We had her mid-term chest x-rays and blood work done today to check there were no obvious problems and to make sure the Carboplatin was working. She has had 3 doses and they like to do this half way through before continuing just in case the chemo isn't effective and if it wasn't then they wouldn't continue giving it.
Good news - her chest x-rays were clear and her CBC and her liver and kidney values were all good!!!
We are sooo relieved. She had been making this kind of throat clearing sound, almost a cough the last few days and so we were worried about lung mets. The x rays did look clear so that is great but I hope this throat thing goes away as I know stuff can happen that doesn't necessarily show up on tests, etc.
They gave her the 4th dose, 2 more to go. So now we'll keep on with the happy, hoppy living of beach walks, home cooked food and all the love she could possibly want.
Thank you our wonderful Tripawd Family for being there for us!

Jackie and Abby
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
That's totally pawsome news, Lylee!!! It's gotta be the super TGP cape! Which I have to say, you looked FABULOUS in!
