Well Gilda had her first appointment back at the vets tonight and hes really pleased with her progress.

Her wound is healing beautifullly and most of the swelling has gone down, he was very impressed with the little vest i made her out of an old pair of tights :-)

Didnt have a problem getting her inot the car either, she leapt in, i think it did her good to get out actually, she was quite bright on th way over and even wagged her tail when she saw him :-)

She has her stitches out next Wednesday, hopefully things will continue to go in the right direction for her :-)

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Hi Jerry, to be honest shes never had to wear the lamp shade lol

shes been very good with all her wounds, the idea of the vest was to help stop the swelling and keep the bandage in place and it did a great job, i looked on the net for somthing but couldnt find anything at all..

Benny, she had her usual toffee sundae from Maccys on the way back from the vets last night, shhhhh. Its her little treat for being such a good girl winker

Thankyou mum2shelby... She is a bit gorjus isnt she winkerxx

Wow...Gilda is a gorgeous girl!!  Those eyes are just beautiful!!  The look on her face in the pic makes me think she's thinking "yeah I know I'm gorgeous".

And the vest you made is really neat...you may want to patent it and go into business making them for the Tripawd nation...winkerwinkerwinker

I'm glad that both Gilda and you are doing well!

Keep up the good work!

lol funny you should say that re the vest, someone else said the same thing earlier. Surely you must be able to get something similar from somewhere, even though i did google an couldnt find anything :-/

I think its really helped with the swelling.

Id love to do somthing like this, but couldnt have clue where to start way-confused

Please do! I wanted that exact how-to after Jack's amputation and ended up spending $80 on a Ruffwear vest (which is beautiful, but she wouldn't have cared if it were a pair of tights instead).
