They do make a chewable tablet form of denamarin .

I tried metronomics for my dog Tazzie and unfortunately the Cytoxan caused a bad bladder infection so we stopped it.  I would not do CCNU with your dog due to the liver but he might be able to tolerate Leukeran.  Part of metronomics is an NSAID but you also have to watch his liver with that!

You could consider artemisinin or Power Mushrooms once his liver is healed.  They do have a slight warning on liver but Tazzie took them without issue although since she had chronic hepatitis she was on denamarin for life.  You could safely do turmeric and fish oil and might look into Chinese herbs such as Stasis Breaker.  I would make sure his liver is okay and only start 1 or 2 things then recheck ALT 2 weeks later to see what he can handle.

It is also okay to not give anything and just see how he does.  This cancer sucks and sometimes no matter what you do it just comes back anyway and every dog is different.  You have already done the most important thing which to stop the pain.

My Dobe Nitro took the chewable denamarin , which is stiil sort of big but can be broken it 4's. He didn't want to just eat it, so I use to wrap it inside liver paste. NIitro also developed cystits from the metronomic cytoxan, but then started Leukeran. He was diagnosed with osteo 2 1/2 years ago, and continues to do well as a front leg Tripawd. He is now off all chemo drugs - did 6 rounds of carboplatin - and now we just enjoy life. Good luck as you move forward.

Thank you so much everyone, it really helps to hear what others have done and some other options that may help fight the cancer.  He is finally feeling better and almost over the diarrhea he developed from the Amoxy he was on (thought it was Baytril, but its Amoxy).  His Flagyl ends tomorrow and then I can't believe it but he is only on denamarin once a day - after all those pills!  I just wanted to give his liver a break from having to deal with processing any of them.  And thank you for the cream cheese tip, finally worked to get it down.  I am definitely getting the chewable kind next, but right now we have 2 months' worth I believe.

Still not sure how to proceed.  Will consider the Leukeran, Arteminisin, and Stasis Breaker.  I have the K9 Omega, seems like he needs to take a bunch for his 110 pound weight, so I will go ahead and restart that and will add the tumeric now.  i also have the NuPro All Natural Dog supplement to start up again, but he doesn't love it so when its gone I am going to try something else.  I am going to continue to feed him lean protein for one of his meals a day but need to get him on a well-balanced dog food for the other meal.  I thought maybe the Wellness CORE Grain-Free Turkey, Chicken Liver & Turkey Liver Formula because I really don't like cooking liver myself and it also 50% more protein than the Chicken & Sweet Potato one, has Greens and botanicals for preventive health benefits and a Fish and flax Omega blend.  I am going to start reading the nutritional posts here to get him the best combination of dog and home made food. Read the cancer survival book by Dr. Dressler, and look into consulting Dr. Loops in NC.  But its all so overwhelming!  I kind of wish someone would just tell me what to do at this point.  Pretty drained from all the previous medical research for his amputation problems, chemo issues, liver toxicity and and mushroom identification we just went through!

I think my main goal is to support his immune system and try to keep fighting the cancer without making him feel sick or tax his liver in any way.  I do want to get him on a good regimen.  I appreciate all of your input so much!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I can't believe I can finally say this, but I guess I can move to the other forums (for nutrition, etc) ...  but if anyone has any other suggestions for cancer interventions, please do chime in, I would like to weigh all the options.
