I am posting this here since it is under the topic of treatment and recovery... Coopers elbows have always been rather bald for lack of a better description, and since his amp his elbow on his right front leg has developed like a pressure sore from laying on it and using his elbow to push himself up and around. I would assume this will toughen up and heal in time , but is there anything to do to speed this process? it looks very sore like and open blister. Thanks for any tips!

Cooper needs padding to protect the elbow.  There is a company called Dog Leggs that makes pads you can buy online.  In the meantime applying Neosporine and a padded bandage (not too tight) should help.

Aww, I just saw Coopers video... so sweet!  He is doing great!  I love his tail too.  What a great and brave boy.

Cometdog.  Pththphthhpth.  Yes, it is not the most intelligent reply but it is the best I can come up with at 4:49 am.  In my defense I picked the "do you feel lucky" button for music.  I was about as lucky as when I go to the casino.  There are little bad people who hang out inside your computer and do mean things!

Coops dad, you are doing great with him.  He looks amazing for just going through two surgeries and still being on the funny pills.  What a good boy.  I wish you lived closer, I would love to meet Cooper.

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us.  Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.

we swear by the pad!!  the plans are available as a download.  using hers, gayle was able to finally heal up her rugged front elbow.  let me know if you have trouble figuring out the directions...i still have gayle's - don't know if it's big enought to get around cooper's chest, but we could try!!!

charon & gayle

Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included).  She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.

Elizabeth and Sammy, yes! that would be so awesome if Cooper and Sammy could meet, but as you say with a divide of half the country it doesnt appear to be in the card. 🙂  and thank you for the compliments towards my care and Coopers appearance and recovery. I can tell you without a doubt I have felt more than inept at caring for him since this , but giving it my all for my boy!

Charon and  Gayle, I did look at your directions that I downloaded for the elbow pad, it looks easy enough, is the elastic sewn to the cloth covering? I dont know if yours would fit Coop or not - measurements around his chest for the ruffwear harness were around 39 inches. He is a big boy!

Hoss and Fancy, thanks! so far Coop seems to be doing really really good, how is Fancy doing after her second surgery? She is such a beautiful girl! Hoping the best for you both!

thanks to all! you are all such good friends!
