Aww Otis you did it! And you too Tess. Congrats on getting over this hurdle!

I know there's been some debate among vets about whether or not fasting while fighting diarrhea is the best thing to do. Some vets say that mild food like chicken and white rice is safe while others don't. One thing to keep on hand which can help clear up his runny poop is edible clay. It works wonders.

Was woken up in the middle of the night by sounds of lip licking.  Oh no, nausea again?  Otis was sprawled out on his bed, upside down, three paws in the air.  Clearly feeling fine.  I am so totally remembering the new Mom days when the baby moves in the crib and you get up to makes sure she is breathing.  Every two hours.  While the baby is sound asleep, blissfully happy.

Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016.  Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016.  Lung mets August 25, 2016.  Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016.   Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.

Wherever they are, they are together.

Oh Otis! You are a silly boy! Don't you know you can't even lick your lips anymore without humans flipping out? Yeah, even in your sleep!! This journey turns us into craaaaazy worry warts!

One of my favorite stories is about a cutie tripawd Barrett. Woke up one morning and having trouble standing, leg kept buckling. His human scooped him up ojt of bed and rushed him to vet immediately! And I do mean immediately!! Of course, by the time she got to the vet he was standing just fine! No problems!

Turns out the vet determined Barrett's leg had merely "fallen to sleep"!

Craaaazzzy journey!

oh my gosh!  "mom" ears!  ugh!  My husband doesn't hear a darn thing!  But I hear everything..it just isn't fair lol  Although for some reason Max  has decided that when he hears a storm and is afraid in the middle of the night, he needs to wake up my husband for snuggles ....maybe because he knows that I'm not going to wake up for something like that.  Cassie only wakes him up when she wants to go out ... she'll let me sleep all morning long, but will make sure he's up nice & early big-blink

So pleased to hear Otis is feeling better. He sounds like such a lovely silly boy. I think he deserves a special treat for dinner tonight. What do you reckon, Otis?

Ruby, Staffy, born June 2022, became a Tripawd, 23 November 2023, adopted 12 January 2024.

Also Angel Tripawd Meg (aka The Megastar), who died in April 2023, aged 14, after seven glorious years on three, and Angel Staffies Pie and Bille. In the pawprints of giants...
