At some point it would be awesome to summarize her protocol and how it's working out, we'd love to feature it in the Tripawds Nutrition blog .
Hope you have a great Friday!

Hello,
It's been a while.
I thought today was an appropriate day to post an update on a very lucky dog family.
It was one year ago today when Greta was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. On 4/1/14 her back left leg was amputated.
I am very blessed to report that Greta is still seemingly completely normal. A few weeks ago I got a bit nervous because her pattern of sleeping in the house had changed and she was spending more time outside which made me think she was in pain. Her pattern is back to normal. I think the abnormality lasted for about 1-2 weeks and I am chalking it up to something else but I don't have a theory.
She has not been back to the vet since amputation. She is on Dr. Charles Loops protocol for osteosarcoma plus some additional supplements; Vitamin C, CoQ10, Glutathione, K9 Transfer Factor, IP-6, L-Arginine and Power Mushrooms.
She also gets some ACV (apple cider vinegar), salmon oil and vitamin E as part of her normal diet. She has always been fed raw. She was 5 years old at the time of diagnosis and is now 6.
I hope this update helps and inspires others who may be in the difficult position of making a decision on a treatment plan for their dog with osteosarcoma.
Good luck to all.

Amazing and congrats! I'm so happy for you guys! We were just diagnosed and are hoping for the best following the holistic route. If you don't mind me asking, what are you feeding her? Thank you!
Hello There,
I check in very infrequently but I do try to remember whenever I have an update.
Greta is still fantastic and she just had a vet exam this week which was, wait for it........, the first time she's been to the vet since 4/1/14, the day her leg was amputated. And, guess what! She's fine, her labs are great. Aside from taking the dive to Bravecto for flea treatment and some antibiotics for a small skin infection due to itchiness, all is good.
As a reminder from a previous post, she is on Dr. Charles Loops protocol for osteosarcoma plus some additional supplements; Vitamin C, CoQ10, Glutathione, K9 Transfer Factor, IP-6, L-Arginine and Power Mushrooms.
She also gets some ACV (apple cider vinegar), salmon oil, coconut oil and vitamin E as part of her normal diet. She has always been fed raw. She was 5 years old at the time of diagnosis and is now 7.
I hope this update helps and inspires others who may be in the difficult position of making a decision on a treatment plan for their dog with osteosarcoma.
Good luck to all.

Thank you so much for your post! I hadn't run across your story before, and this gives me so much hope that just maybe I'll have more than a few months with my boy. So happy for you and Greta!
I hope for you a few months with your boy but let's try for years. 😉
Thank you and best of luck to you.
Wow! An amazing story!
Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016. Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016. Lung mets August 25, 2016. Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016. Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.
Wherever they are, they are together.
Thanks for the great update! Please keep us posted.
